This afternoon Chelsea travel to the Emirates to take on the Arsenal with both teams coming into the game hurt for very different reasons. Arsenal, hurt by the loss and the way they were outplayed on Tuesday, will be looking to keep the pressure on Chelsea and closing the gap to third place in the league. Chelsea, hurt and angered by the referee on Wednesday night need a victory to keep the pressure on Liverpool for second place and also will look to get one over the Arsenal after they came to the Bridge and nicked the points earlier in the season.
There is little doubt this is a must win game for both sides. Both sides will be looking to pick themselves up and get the win today and both teams will be well fired up for today.
Its important today that Chelsea start off well. We need to be up and at it from the off as Arsenal will look to dominate possession. Like in the Cup Semi-Final once we got on the ball we were comfortable.
Today we need to see the usual dominating performance of Frank Lampard. In recent weeks he hasn't been as involved as he has since Guus arrived at Chelsea. OK, against Barcelona we compromised the way we normally play and Frank Lampard struggled to influence the game due to the tactics we opted to play with. Against Fulham he didn't really influence the game again and I'm not sure if its down to the radio show argument he had the other week but today is another chance for Frank to shine and he could be the single difference in the game.
We need to remain tight at the back and nullify Adebayor and Van Persie and Ashley Cole needs to be up for the challenge that Theo Walcott provides for anyone.
The most important thing of all is the lads put the past week behind them, dust themselves off and step out on that pitch, and play like we had been.
Come on the Chels!
