So its been more or less 24 hours since we beat Blackburn in our last home game of the season 2-0. Goals from Malouda and Anelka sealed the win but let's be honest we should of scored a whole lot more.
The game felt like more of a training game than a Premier League game yesterday. Blackburn as i said before only had their professional pride to play for and although they posed a threat in the first half there was very too little to worry about really in the game.
I was disappointed with Drogba yesterday, apart from the Anelka goal he didn't really seem interested. He lost the majority of his headers against smaller direct opponents and didnt really figure at all. His performance to me wasn't good enough. I was a little bit surprised that Guus didn't give the youngsters a chance with 25 mins to go. With the likes of Di Santo (looking for his first Chelsea goal), Sinclair and Stoch it was the perfect chance to give them three a run and see how they did.
Lampard did everything to get that 20th goal of the season and if he relaxed and just played his game i have no doubt he would of scored with his second touch rather than take it round Robinson. But we still have next week at Sunderland to make that one count Frank!
I thought the back four did well yesterday. They eventually snuffed out Blackburn's attack. Ashley Cole had a good game again down the left. The midfield was solid as ever and Mikel is looking more and more assured everytime he plays. Nicolas Anelka was outstanding yesterday. He scored one and made one and his contribution was fantastic. Malouda had another good game too and picked up another goal. He has been a totally different player in recent weeks.
Most important thing of all was to get the three points and send Guus back to Russia with a win, three points and memories of the Faithful showing just how grateful we all are for what he has done with our side!
Lets hope he can bring the FA Cup back to the Bridge. Come on the Chels!
