Isn't it good to wake up and realise that it wasn't a dream and yes we did beat Arsenal on their patch 4-1. But, we do have to be honest here. If Theo Walcott had his shooting boots on we could of been losing in a big way after just 20 minutes.
Its great that the boys picked themselves up after midweek and especially after the first 20 minutes at the Emirates on Sunday. Its great that they ground out another result away from home but its our slow starts to games that concern me.
Why did it take us 20 minutes to really get hold of the ball and get at Arsenal. Once we did you have to say we more or less took control. Yes i know Arsenal still had their chances and Cech made some great saves but once we got hold of it, we never looked back.
Another thing i noticed aswell was at times Drogba drifted out wide and Anelka came inside. Once more Anelka showed his class with his great goal which was Chelsea's second of the game. He picks up the ball and runs at defenders and gives defenders something different to worry about from when Drogba plays up there through the middle.
Cech was outstanding and looked as though he is on his way back to his best and i am pleased for him. He has had a couple of dodgey games for us but its great to see him back and imposing his presence in games again. Everytime a cross came into the box you knew he would come off his line and deal with it. With the other great saves he made in the game the result was as much down to him aswell as our finishing.
The only thing we seem to be lacking at times is to start games well, get hold of the ball and settle things down and get into our passing game. If we can cut out the bad starts to games in the FA Cup Final then that's ours as far as i am concerned. Also next season we will back up there at the top of the League.
One thing is for sure, to come away from the Emirates having won the game 4-1 is outstanding and a result i don't think any of us expected.
Bring on Blackburn at home on Sunday!
