So its Champions League week and here we go again against Liverpool. This is the 5th season that we have met them in the knockout stages.
Both sides have slight worries about players fitness this week. For us its important that Didier gets back fit and plays against Liverpool. I think we all know deep down that we will be put under alot of pressure in the first leg at Anfield this is why its important we have Drogba as an out ball to look to play it up to him and build from there.
Apart from that i think we will be at more or less full strength apart from Joe Cole.
Its one of those games that can go either way. But how will we line up & how will Guus set us up to play Liverpool? Who will start and who won't? I don't think anyone of us can have a definate 11 in our minds for the game on Wednesday.
I think i can name Liverpool's team now:
Reina, Arbeloa, Skrtel, Carragher, Aurelio, Mascherano, Alonso, Reira, Kuyt, Gerrard and Torres (Sound like Jose now in the Press Conference V Barca!)
Liverpool will be up for it as they will look back on the game at the Bridge earlier in the season when they put an end to our home record BUT to all you Liverpool fans out there, we are a MUCH different side to the side you played that day.
I can see us scoring at Anfield as they do look dodgey at the back. Drogba up against Skrtel could be the match winner for us on the night. Here's a reminder of the first leg last season!
Who can forget Phil Thompson (Former European Cup Winner with Liverpool's reaction to that goal last season! Ha Ha )
How do you all feel as we come to the build up? How would you play it? More to come from me later on tonight. So stay tuned and feel free to comment and post away!
