Chelsea’s Spanish Goalkeeper has been the focus of many rumours and speculative stories in recent months having fallen out of favour this season. As a result, we are reading numerous names being linked to Chelsea this summer and I am asking you the Chelsea fan reading this on where you stand on Kepa?
Kepa Arrizabalaga has had a turbulent season at best after receiving plenty of criticism for the whole Maurizio Sarri debacle in the League Cup Final at Wembley. You would have been better placed to head over to a top online casino rather than expect Kepa to win his place back. Under new manager Frank Lampard, Kepa as with everyone else would have been looking forward to a fresh start but as we have seen, has fallen out of favour, dropped for Willy Caballero for a game or two and then brought back into the side before the season was postponed.
With the football season being postponed due to Coronavirus COVID19, we sit and wait for news as to when it will restart once the world can find a cure to get on top of the global epidemic. In the meantime, you can head over to check out online slots if you looking for some games. However, the newspapers and sports reporters still have a job to do and fill the internet with pages upon pages of continued speculation, circulated through social media. Unfortunately for Kepa, his immediate future at Chelsea is being discussed with a whole host of potential replacements linked to come in as his replacement.
Manuel Neuer, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nick Pope, Dean Henderson, and Andre Onana are named continuously linked with reports that potential deals are almost completed for Donnarumma with a five-year contract worth £35m on the table. It does not look good for Kepa right now at all.
The question is, “Is Kepa that bad?”
First and foremost, you think of the massive transfer fee Chelsea paid for his services (£76m) which would have been seen to be a long-term investment and you would have to believe that the club still feels the same at this stage. If they were told his services were no longer required by Frank Lampard and his technical staff, the club would be hard pushed to try and recoup most of the massive outlay.
Have his performances this season declined that much that you see no future for him here? Before you answer, it's important to remember that the position he plays is one where every single error is magnified. One mistake can cost you a game whereas in other positions it could come to nothing.
I still personally believe that Kepa has a future here and that he has hopefully learned from his time out of the side to look at his game, to understand why he was dropped and to continue to work hard at improving every single day. From what we see of Kepa, he has the right mentality and the right attitude to have done that already or at least continue to do so.
So over to you guys. Tell me, what do you think of Kepa?
