Roman Abramovich and Chelsea happy to settle with what they already have here for next season?
It's been another week of the World Cup, the transfer window and yet again we have literally heard nothing from Chelsea. Is anyone...

We can sit and read all the latest transfer rumours, the latest about Maurizio Sarri and potential new signings but the simple fact remains that we are only talking about all this based on press speculation. We have no idea if there is any substance in these reports, is there actual genuine fact or is this just made up bullshit written by the media to sell copy and to gain interest while we wait for the next World Cup game to come round?
I cannot help but think that because the transfer window has changed this year - to now finish ahead of the opening day of the Premier League season on August 11th; that there is too little time for Sarri to come in and get the players in that he wants.
Think about it, some of those players are still playing in Russia for the time being and will extend their stay there for another week coupled with the official line from the club at the end of the season stating that everyone will return to Cobham for pre-season training on Monday July 9th.
We haven't sold anyone yet and haven't signed anyone. Do you think that Chelsea would be happy to be involved in a free-for-all over a period of one month to get rid of the players that we read want to leave, to then bring new players in? We are talking of around five to six players leaving - Willian, Morata, Hazard, Drinkwater, Luiz and Zappacosta with possible replacements being linked such as Mertens, Higuain, Golovkin, Serri and Rugani? I simply cannot see it happening.
Through all this, all the transfer speculation and the comment regarding his future, Antonio Conte has taken his holidays and has not said a word apart from what he said at the end of last season - to state that he intends on seeing out his contract. Despite all this, Maurizio Sarri is being linked with taking over at Chelsea and if you believe the press - it will be this week!
I just wonder if the Chelsea hierarchy and Roman Abramovich have sat down this summer and looked at the playing staff with the options we have and decided that they do not need to invest much this summer. OK, if certain players want to leave then fair enough, you have to replace them, but I just wonder if they are happy to settle with what they have in the dressing room and with their head-coach to put things right this season?
