Chelsea were well and
truly beaten by Watford in the Monday Night Football 4-1 to increase
speculation of Antonio Conte’s immediate future at the club.
Let me start by saying
what a complete shower of shit that was. I had to work until late
last night so recorded the game to watch in full delayed from everyone else and
wish I had not bothered we were that bad.
With Chelsea, and it
has been the case for years by the way not just under Antonio Conte, there has
been numerous occasions when the players for whatever reason simply fail to turn
up, they have the wrong mentality, they are unable to lift themselves and give
the type of performance that should force the club to give the faithful Blues
supporters in the stands their money back. Last night was a classic example.
How anyone wearing that
blue shirt last night, and I literally mean nine of those eleven barring N’Golo
Kante and Eden Hazard who come out of the game with some credit for actually
giving a shit, knowing we has lost our previous game 0-3 to Bournemouth in what
was our worst performance of the season, knowing how important it was for us to
bounce-back and to pick ourselves up to get back to winning ways, then goes out
on that pitch to not perform, to not give a shit – even if it was the wrong starting
eleven and basically give up losing their discipline is beyond me. I would jump
through bloody hoops to earn in a year what this lot earn in a week. For nine
of those players, their performance was totally unacceptable and should all be
fined or warned of their future conduct for breach of contract because they
were not Chelsea players last night – they were a Championship side!
As for the head-coach
Antonio Conte, he MUST now accept his part in all this and against Bournemouth.
If you are unable to motivate your players to deliver the game plan that had
been put together over the last five days then there are serious problems.
Antonio Conte admitted
to making a mistake with his starting eleven having watched the
absolute toss we all did. It’s clear that he feels now that he cannot trust one
or two of those players when he asked them to perform. Whatever the issues are
between him and these players, he MUST sort them out sooner rather than later because
it will continue to have a detrimental effect on the team.
In my opinion the starting
eleven was wrong and the likes of Emerson Palmieri and Olivier Giroud should have
started the game with Danny Drinkwater in the heart of our midfield next to N’Golo
Kante. Why on earth play Davide Zappacosta at left wing-back to run down that
wing and cross the ball into the box to who? The bloody 5ft brigade in Hazard,
Pedro and Willian??? It was the perfect opportunity to give Palmieri and Giroud their starts but didn’t happen.
I don’t know how many
more times I need to say it but stick Tiemoue Bakayoko on the bench from now on
and play Danny Drinkwater for god sake. The Frenchman is struggling to adapt to
life in the Premier League and this was highlighted with his performance. He couldn’t pass the bloody ball, could not win a tackle and got himself
two yellow cards in the space of five minutes in the first half to put
ourselves under more pressure than we needed to. I don’t bloody care if the first
was not a yellow card, he gave the referee a decision to make but putting
himself in that position. To then make the challenge he did having lost the
bloody ball AGAIN is ridiculous. He needs to be dropped for a period now.
When Olivier Giroud came
on, it changed the game for us and we looked much more comfortable even with
ten men because we had a balance to the side and more importantly a focal
point. How many more times do I have to say it – Chelsea are built to play off
the big striker up front, a physical presence and someone who can hold it up to
bring others into play in addition to scoring goals themselves.
Both Giroud and Cesc
Fabregas come out of the game with credit alongside Kante and Hazard in my
view. Everyone else was shocking they really were. Our defending and a lack of
discipline is a major concern. Someone needs to get hold of David Luiz, have
word with him and shake him back into the player he was last season. If he has
issues with Conte fair enough but don’t take that out onto that pitch, you get
out there and give everything for the shirt and the supporters. He has no discipline
that lasts ninety minutes and drifts out of position too often. That was also
the worst I have seen Cesar Azpilicueta perform in a long, long time.
Gary
Cahill needs to be dropped end of at the the moment because it’s clear that the
social media comments are now getting to him and he has become uneasy on the
ball, nervy and loses the ball too often in key positions. As for Courtois, stop
trying to bloody play the ball out of defence and giving the likes of Cahill
problems by passing to him with players around him! With Giroud in the team,
lump the bloody thing up to him!
For the first time this
season having been pro-Conte, pro-Cahill and pro-everything else, I admit that
there are serious problems at Chelsea and they MUST be addressed one way or the
other to save our season. I sincerely hope that Antonio Conte is given time to
short this shit out but we have to admit that I wouldn’t be surprised if Roman
acted as he has in the past. Chelsea have won just TWO of our last TEN GAMES.
At the minute there is
so much negativity of Chelsea, of Antonio Conte and of our performances that we
have literally become a laughing stock, and everyone involved from the head-coach
his staff and the players are all accountable.
Sort yourselves out for
fuck sake!
