Antonio Conte had to face questions at the end of last week over his Chelsea future and of stories linking Carlo Ancelotti with a return to Stamford Bridge as his replacement.
(Now you will have to forgive me for the timing of this post. I was travelling around Italy last week and when these reports came out I was in Piedmonte (wine country) with no PC or decent Internet access.)
I managed to see Antonio Conte's press conference and loved it. I loved the stand he made against the reports linking Carlo Ancelotti with his job. These reports are scandalous and highlight the fact that some sections of the press/media are scum they really are.
Antonio Conte for the first time showed a side of him we had not seen to that point. His demeanour throughout his time here has been great, he always speaks with respect and his honestly shines through never shying away from talking of a defeat or disappointing performance.
On Friday he took the reporter asking the questions of these reports to task and rightly so. It's ridiculous to think that he is under pressure because of our apparent poor start to the season. What these idiots in the press need to realise is what Conte and his team have been up against since the start of the season as pointed out here. Injuries suspensions have played havoc with team selection but despite all that, he find ourselves fourth and just nine points behind Manchester City knowing that in this league anything can change in an instant.
I'd like to re-iterate a point I have made of Conte and that is that I wouldn't want anyone else in charge of Chelsea right now. The Chelsea board have let him down in the last few transfer windows and yes, there maybe some issue with that between them, however when it comes to football and working with his players, that's when he comes into his own.
All this bullshit talk about the players being unhappy with his training methods is also bollocks if you ask me. It's just some twat sitting in an office conjuring up the latest crap to sell their papers or to encourage clicks onto their website. You look at the performances of his players and you can tell they are all behind him. Why on earth would they question him in the first place after he demonstrated what both he and they can achieve last season.
Antonio Conte said on Friday that the press can write what they want about him because he doesn't read the papers and he does not care. According to them we are in crisis.
I'm with Antonio Conte - we are far from it. Watch us rise!
SO TRUE, THEY ARE JUST A BUNCH OF IDIOTS LOOSERS. TALKING CRAPS BULLSHITS TO SELL THEIR PAPERS. as a blue for life this is what I am saying: THE CHAMPION WILL RISE AGAIN.
ReplyDeleteWe all know sports "journalists" need to sell newspapers, pundits need to sell themselves. If there is a shortage of suitable headlines, then they must be created. Add to the mix the fact that all those involved are supporters of their own club, have a vested interest driven by emotion and are therefore totally biased, its hardly surprising that certain clubs, managers, players are targeted.
ReplyDeleteHaving stated the above, I have to admit that I have not seen such a persistent anti Chelsea campaign as is evident this season. I don't know if its our owners that are the real target (I love the fact that Abramovich doesn't need the press and ignores them) but why such an escalation after all this time? They seem to have gone completely overboard, lose and we're in crises, win and they place their focus elsewhere, players behaviour, off-field issues, etc.
After the latest Conte interview to which you refer where he used the term bullshit, the first article I read referred to Conte as "not displaying his usual controlled demeanor, which in itself confirms that all is not well at Chelsea". Priceless!
I'm not sure what's most depressing, that "journalists" of such low intellect lacking in moral fibre are well rewarded or the eagerness of the average football fan to buy into such propaganda.
I think Ambramovich's attitude towards the media is spot on, 14 years and counting, long may it continue. Mind you, what will we do when he gets bored and leaves?.......Lol.
