Chelsea make the trip to Leicester tomorrow for the return of Premier League fixtures after the international break and all eyes will be on Antonio Conte's team selection for the game.
Having previously faced Everton at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago and winning 2-0 with ease, It will be interesting to see just how many changes the manager decides to make if any at all for this one.
With new signings Davide Zappacosta and Danny Drinkwater in training at Cobham with their new team mates this week in addition to Eden Hazard who has proved his fitness with two appearances for Belgium, there surely must be a temptation for Conte to change his team around with one eye on our first Champions League group game against Qarabag at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.
It's the first time this season that Conte will have options to choose from in all areas of the pitch and will be of comfort finally to him. We now have options to play within our back three, we have important cover down both sides of the pitch at wing-back, cover in the defensive midfield positions, cover for an option of playing a midfielder who looks to get forward to support our attacks, cover in the number ten positions and up top. It's beginning to look much, much better for us.
Looking beyond Qarabag in the Champions League next Tuesday, we have Arsenal on Sunday 17th September with Manchester City just a couple of weeks later, we will need the whole squad fit and available because we are heading into a really important time for the football club and our season as a whole.
Personally, I think that Antonio Conte will name an unchanged side from those that started against Everton. The only changes will be to our substitutes bench with Zappacosta, Hazard and Drinkwater (if fit) named alongside Caballero, Bakayoko, Christensen and Batshuayi. Cesc Fabregas could be given the weekend off.
I could be totally wrong here but it makes sense for me to keep the team together that played so well and dominated against Everton. It's a long season and there is no point rushing Eden Hazard back into the side if not yet fully match fit. Danny Drinkwater has been injured and has not featured for Leicester at all before his move on deadline day so we need to see where he is at. The only person that could walk into the side is Davide Zappacosta and it would be tough on Victor Moses if he did but let's wait and see what happens.
Without question, this is a game that Chelsea need to keep there or thereabouts with the pacesetters in the Premier League. This is no easy game for us and with any game we play in this league, you need to earn the right to take away three points.
I predict a Chelsea win by two goals, being too strong on the pitch and in reserve.
What do you think and who do you think will start?
