Diego Costa has revealed that he has been told to find a new club as he is no longer required at Chelsea in a message sent by Antonio Conte.
Speaking after Spain drew 2-2 last night with Colombia, when asked of his immediate future and any possible developments said:
"I'm a Chelsea player, but they do not want me there.
Antonio Conte has told me by message that I do not follow at Chelsea and that's it. Conte said he did not count on me for next season.
My relationship with the coach has been bad this season. It's a shame, I've already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide - "You have to find a team".
Costa was then asked what he plans to do and said:
"I do not know, it's complicated, but people know that I love Atletico a lot and that I love to live in Madrid.
It would be nice to go back, but it's difficult to be four or five months without playing. It's a World Cup year and there are many things to think about. I need to play, just that." - Source: The Telegraph.
What an amazing and surprising turn of events. It was clear that there was a problem back in January when Costa's people had been approached with the riches in the far east. We read numerous reports of a fallout with one of Antonio Conte's assistants and with the manager. As a result, Costa was forced to train alone for a period of time but, in saying that, after a few weeks we all saw the photos of harmony back in the camp and everything seemed to be sorted out.
For Antonio Conte it seems that he simply does not forget and the fact that he has stated that he cannot rely on Costa for next season is a massive statement from the boss and one you have to respect whether you agree with it or not.
Antonio Conte will live and die for his club, for his players and for the supporters so if you do anything to de-stabilise that or cross him then there will be a problem that will remain.
It will be one of the biggest stories of the summer if Conte is able to sell a man he doesn't trust despite the impact he has had on the Premier League in two of his three seasons here.
What a story and what balls from the Manager! Kudos Antonio, Kudos!
Totally behind Conte. Costa has pretty much created drama in every transfer window after his first season. Add to that the attitude problems and sometimes blatant unprofessionalism like when he threw his bib at mourinho. It'll be a loss but it's better to part ways now when we can get a decent sum of money.
ReplyDeleteI think its a shame with champions league football next season im sure theres enough game time for both Costa and lukaku.
ReplyDeleteTotally support Antonio he's a rotten apple which he just managed to keep on board for the season. He'd want to leave in January anyway when Athletico can buy, he doesn't like the English weather, didn't play for the last half of the season, keeps falling over lets move on !
ReplyDeleteI for one am not sure I believe that such message was sent by text, or whatever he's claiming. It may be another ploy that Costa is taking to get his move away. If Conte really has told him to look for another club then fair play, he will know what's going on behind the scenes more than us but Costa has been edging for a move for a long time, and now that he has shown disrespect to the manager by either displaying a private message in public, or making something up altogether, this is his final move to get out. And he will now get his way regardless.
ReplyDeleteDon't think I believe that this was the way it has gone down, but more a way for Costa to look like the victim rather than admit he just wants to go. His dramatics have been embarrassing at times, so I would be quite happy to see him go. When he wants to, he is phenomenal, but he's often left wanting.
Thanks for everything Diego. You will always be remembered fondly. Shame it's come to this, but don't think he will ever go down as a legend at the club.
Spoilt brat that is what Diego Costa his. He bitch too much
ReplyDeleteI'd be really surprised (and a little disappointed) if Costa received such news via a "message". Conte strikes me as the type who would, quite rightly, deliver such news face to face. Having said that, I have no argument with the content of such a "message" and it's long overdue in my mind. I only hope we get a good price for him which, in the circumstances, is perhaps doubtful.
ReplyDeleteAnother comment which concerns me is Costas' "I have already forwarded the message to the Chelsea people to decide". The only Chelsea people to decide should be Conte and I sincerely hope the Chelsea board see it that way. I'm guessing Emanalo is again involved and who knows where his loyalties lie and what agenda he is working to? It would be great if, for the first time in a decade, we were seen to categorically back the manager!
Disappointed though. Conte would cause an unrest in the team.
ReplyDeleteCosta's "golden time" in Chelsea has definitely ended! It was time for him to leave a while ago
