I'll keep on saying it until someone listens to me! I love Diego Costa and his passion and desire for the game WHEN IT'S THERE! For now, his movement is shit and we MUST consider Loic Remy for Tottenham.
Even tonight at half time, Jose Mourinho and Costa were involved in a heated argument as they left the pitch and headed towards the changing room. Most of us thought that Costa would be immediately substituted as a result as Loic Remy was sent out to warm up but to our surprise, Costa played the full ninety minutes.
Even Jose Mourinho seems to finally be picking up on Costa's lack of movement because hen questioned about their row, Jose Mourinho said:
"I wanted him to do a certain movement that he didn't. I was disappointed that he didn't and I reacted. He did too. At half-time in the dressing room, there were a few kisses and a few cuddles. No problem.”
If it's just one game then fair enough but for me it's EVERY game now and there is no sign that Costa is getting better or showing a willingness to make those same runs he did last season which brought both him and Chelsea so much success.
As each game comes, I am hoping to see a spark in Costa. I am looking for that fire for goals re-ignited in the man but it just doesn't seem to be there and his body language isn't good.
Yes he is making certain runs but NOT the runs into key areas to get on the crosses we are putting into the box and if anything, it looks as though he doesn't want to know and that's the most concerning thing in all this.
As I have said, I love Diego Costa as much as the next person but he needs to understand that he MUST change his attitude this season. He MUST show more desire and determination to get on the end of things as he did so many times last season and finally, he MUST score goals.
Tottenham is a massive game and we cannot afford to have Diego Costa not up and at it for this one!
Someone, somewhere at Cobham, sort him out please!
It looks more than just poor form to me. The fact that his English has hardly improved, he spent a lot of the close season at "home", came back overweight and seems in a coma at times, suggests to me that his heart lies in Spain. I suspect he'll return there at some point in the near future and I wouldn't blame him. What I do blame him for is his unprofessional behaviour in not giving it his all in the meantime. I'm not a fan of Remy at all (shame we didn't save our money and use Bamford) but right now I'd play him every time.
ReplyDeleteAccurate assessment Norman, many of our recent signings suck, particularly the older guys who presumably are seen as the finished article.
DeletePlease please Chelsea can we focus more on bringing through young (if possible homegrown) talent who, ultimately, will be properly invested in Chelsea Football Club as a direct result of being developed at the club.
Falcao has lost 90% of what he was, Remy is too weak and Costa looks like he really wants to go home.
If we don't address our striker situation in January we can forget top four.
Absolutely, about time the views of more than just a few of us with no influence were listened to.
DeleteWe have 2 or 3 youngsters who would be no worse and probably a whole lot better that our present 3 so called strikers. Oh for a Kane or a Vardy (both English)
Get Solanke back from loan.
ReplyDeleteWe are struck with him for the season. He is a temparamental character and Jose needs to be very careful while handling him. We are in deep enough trouble, aggravating issues further is going to get us nowhere. A talented player with attitude problem is no good. Sell him in summer and close the matter.
