Thibaut Courtois has flown to Spain to have exploratory surgery on his injured knee in training yesterday. It's reported that he has completely torn his meniscus and faces a possible three months on the sidelines!
What a blow to Chelsea and to Jose Mourinho as we have a really important run of games coming up against Everton tomorrow, Arsenal next weekend and let's also not forget the Champions League as we start our 2015 campaign against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

It's typical though isn't it. We go through the whole of last season with no real injury problems with our Goalkeepers and now this season in addition to getting himself sent off on the opening day of the season, Courtois will now miss a bulk of the season leading upto the busy Christmas period.
One person who will benefit will be Asmir Begovic who had been outstanding against Manchester City despite conceding three goals. But for his heroics in that first half, it could have been far, far worse.
Now, Begovic will literally be thrown in at the deep end and will experience his first taste of Champions League football with Chelsea. Do you think he is up to it?
One thing is certain, Chelsea now have a real concern over cover in that area with Courtois injury. Begovic will step up to be our number one in that period but what happens if (fingers crossed it doesn't happen) he gets injured??
The news is a massive blow on what has already been a nightmare start to our season.
