It's silly season in the press and with a busy summer predicted for most clubs, I wanted to focus on what I personally believe to be the top ten Chelsea transfer rumours we have all read so far. There have been some that seem to have real substance about them and some that are simply ridiculous!
For the latest markets this summer on who is going where make sure you check out http://www.bet360.net/ and get your money on some of the players below!
With plenty of time to go until the new season starts in August and the transfer window closes, there could be plenty more but for now, here is my take on the top ten.
10 - Theo Walcott/Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain.
With plenty of rumours flying about concerning the Chelsea future of Goalkeeper Petr Cech, a report appeared stating that Chelsea wanted to try and sign one of these two in return for doing a deal with Arsenal.
As reported here, I would prefer to take Theo Walcott all day long but after the FA Cup triumph and openly admitting that he wanted to clarify his Arsenal future ASAP, it seems that deal simply is not going to happen.
9 - Yaya Toure.
In a surprising twist, there were reports the other week that Chelsea were monitoring the situation at Manchester City regarding the future of Yaya Toure after (what seems like every summer) his agent stated that his player was looking to leave the Etihad.
I stated at the time that I couldn't see anything in this report unless the player really pushed for a move. I added that his wages could prove to be a stumbling block and he has played well below par this season.
Now, this week, we have confirmation that Toure has met with the Owners of City and has had a change of heart to remain in Manchester for the immediate future.
8 - Koke.
A workhorse with a massive release clause in his contract, Koke' was touted to have been identified as one of Jose Mourinho's main transfer targets this summer for a cool £44m.
Koke has really come into prominence under the guidance of Diego Simeone at Atletico and has had a fantastic two seasons.
Not really your box-to-box, goalscoring midfielder, Koke does the hard work of winning the ball back and passing it rather than becoming a threat in and around the box.
As I stated at the time, I believe Chelsea have better options to spend their money on in the position next to Matic in midfield.
Koke has since insisted that his future lies with Atletico.
7 - Pedro.
Rumoured to be available this summer for around £22m, Pedro of Barcelona would be a perfect Jose Mourinho signing.
As stated here, I believe it be fantastic news if there is a real substance behind the reports of Chelsea's interest.
Having been brought up at Barcelona and familiar with hard work with and without the ball, Pedro doesn't need to prove himself to anyone and it's only because of the current Barcelona front three ( Neymar, Messi and Suarez) and their performances week in and week out, that he is forced to remain on the substitutes bench.
I really, really rate Pedro and hope that if he is available, we are interested!
6 - Raheem Sterling.
Real stupid reports surfaced as featured here, claiming that Chelsea would offload up to five players this summer to fund a move for Sterling who has admitted that he wants to return to London.
A player with obvious talent and natural pace, it seems that he has the football world at his feet but at the same time, he has people advising him badly.
A move to Real Madrid seems likely.
5 - Paul Pogba.
A player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea after the past few years is Paul Pogba. The tall Juventus midfielder has made his name in Serie A and with the French National side.
Believed to be one of Europe's most sought after players after this weekends Champions League Final, a reported appeared recently stating that Pogba had handed in a transfer request and Chelsea were in pole position to sign him for a massive fee!
In my opinion, someone who could be perfect foil in the deep lying midfield position next to Nemanja Matic and of a similar physical frame, He is someone I believe could do well in the Premier League.
The problem is, it's going to take a fortune to sign him.
4. Rafael Varane.
Another young Frenchman but someone familiar to Jose Mourinho who gave him his breakthrough into the first team at Real Madrid. Rafael Varane is also regarded as one of Europe's brightest talents.
Having featured heavily for Real over the past two or three seasons, he had found himself out of favour under Carlo Ancelotti as Pepe and Sergio Ramos were preferred starters.
Now with Ancelotti out and Benitez all but certain to take over, it will be interesting to see what happens with Varane.
He is someone who is of a certain age, someone that has already caught Mourinho's eye and I just wonder with the changes at Real Madrid, if Jose could tempt them into selling?
3 - Antoine Griezmann.
One of the success stories in La Liga this season, Griezmann has produced a fantastic season, his first for Atletico and is now being touted as hot property this summer.
As with what seems any contract with that club, there is a hefty buy-out clause rumoured to be £43.5m for whoever wants to sign him and Chelsea seem to be the club that most people believe will.
As I stated here, I really like him, his work rate, his eye for a goal and his overall contribution in games. He could play anywhere across our front line or in behind as a number ten.
The fee is a massive amount of money to pay and I just wonder if Chelsea will pay it sooner rather than later?
2. Radamel Falcao.
Apparently "desperate" to join Chelsea and prepared to take a huge pay cut to do so, Radamel Falcao has been big news since the season finished.
After what has turned out to be a disappointing season at Manchester United, he has moved back to Monaco after United refused to take up an option to turn his loan this season into a permanent move. As a result, Falcao has left the Premier League with questions being asked about his future.
So to Chelsea and to reports that we had "Opened talks" with the Colombian Striker. The fact he has the same agent as Jose Mourinho helps and you would imagine there could be some real substance in this report.
If Falcao finds his form again he would be an outstanding signing. The doubts remain if he can?
1. Gareth Bale.
It will be interesting to see what happens in Madrid over the next few weeks after major changes have been made with the staff there. The situation with Gareth Bale is one that will run and run throughout the press until the window closes.
Second season syndrome has been in full effect for Gareth Bale over at Real and he has failed to live up to the high standards he had set himself in his first year.
Rumours of a fall-out with Ronaldo, discontent from the Real supporters at his performances including going as far as to vandalise his Car and his overall body language, it seems that the Spanish giants could be willing to recoup some of the money they spent for the world record signing two years ago.
As stated here, it could cost whoever wants him approximately £80m and Chelsea have been reported as interested in developments with Bale as they eye a potential attacking three of Bale, Costa and Hazard next term.
Given the chance to return to the Premier League as part of Jose Mourinho's challenge on all fronts next season, could Bale and Real Madrid be tempted to do business to bring the Welshman to Chelsea?
So there you have it. Those are the rumours I believe are the top ten so far this summer. There were plenty of other players names to consider but we have to be realistic and try to understand the positions Jose Mourinho feels that he needs to strengthen.
A deep lying midfielder, a winger and another striker are what I believe we need and the top ten has those areas covered.
What do you people think of my top ten and of those players being linked with Chelsea? Who would YOU like to see us sign?
