Paul Pogba has reportedly handed in a transfer request to leave Juventus at the end of the season alerting the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG to a summer scramble for his signature.
Now as I have said before on here, I really like Pogba and he would be a similar signing to that of Nemanja Matic one and a half seasons ago. A similar frame, similar qualities and only being 22 years of age, he would be a perfect signing for Jose Mourinho as he looks to put together a team to dominate for years to come.
Another report that has featured today is that when asked of Pogba and where he would go, Andrea Pirlo stated that he "would not go back to Manchester United".
The problem here is the two sides we would be up against if Pogba and Juventus confirm these reports. PSG are the biggest side in his homeland and the temptation to go back to France to play for them would be hard to resist.
Then you have Manchester City who have been disappointing this season. If the rumours are true, then Yaya Toure could be about to leave and City it seems have identified Pogba as the man to replace him.
However, I hope that Chelsea would be in pole position to sign the Frenchman. With Jose Mourinho in charge who may regard as the best manager in the world, a team that is building for future with exciting young talent who have just won the Premier League and a chance to play in the best League in the world - surely it has to be the biggest temptation of all!
It would cost Chelsea a fortune to sign him (£80m or so) but as an investment, with the fact he would feature here for at least five seasons, it's well worth paying.
Just imagine having two holding midfielders as Matic and Pogba lining up next to each other! What do you think?
