All of us of late have seen PSG spend vast amounts of money as they look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League. Eden Hazard has been linked with PSG but he reaffirmed his commitment to Chelsea which is great news.
PSG were one of many clubs who have had restrictions imposed on them after failing to comply with the new financial fair play regulations. Despite those restrictions, the French side have managed to sign David Luiz from Chelsea for a reported £50m this summer.
Even after that deal had been agreed and announced, we have seen constant reports of a move to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea with figures of around £60m being spoken of which makes me wonder how on earth they would be able to manage to do so?
Not for one minute would I ever think Chelsea would sell Hazard, even at that price but it's good to hear a recent quote from our Player of the Year stating that he intends to stay at Stamford Bridge.
He said:
“For the moment, I just want to focus on the World Cup. For the moment I have a contract with Chelsea and I don’t want to leave the club.”
That's fantastic and exactly what all of us wanted to hear from the Belgian who, based on his performances this season, should take the World Cup by storm!
The club have made the right moves within the last week by firstly handing him the number ten shirt that was vacant after Juan Mata's departure and secondly, with talk of a new contract being on the table in a move to tie him down at Stamford Bridge.
Eden Hazard quite literally has the world at his feet and can be as good as he wants. He made an impression in his first season here and the fantastic improvement last season was there for all to see.
Working under the manager and with the players he has around him in London, Hazard could have an unbelievable season next term which (hopefully) will end in silverware for both him personally and the club.
