According to various reports, West Ham are preparing a bid of around £8m this summer to re-sign Demba Ba from Chelsea.
When you think of Demba Ba you think of goals first and foremost and then you think of the fact that he is someone who has spent the majority of the season on the bench playing second fiddle to Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto.
The thing about Demba Ba is that you can pretty much see a goal in him whenever he appears for Chelsea or at least every other game and as we all know, he has come up with some really, really important goals since he joined the club.
I mean no disrespect to Ba at all when I say this, or West Ham and their supporters for that matter, but Demba Ba isn't the Chelsea striker we are looking for really is he? I know he has scored goals but looking at how we play, the manager wants someone clinical and lightening quick. Ba isn't that sort of player.
Thinking back to the end of the transfer window in August, it looked as though he would join Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looked to bolster his options up top. However, the whole Romelu Lukaku argument put an end to that after he was loaned out to Everton and Ba stayed at Chelsea as a backup.
You cannot fault the players attitude and his willingness to get his head down and work hard because at the end of the day he has nothing to prove to anyone. His record in the Premier League is there for all to see and his goals for Chelsea when he has been called upon, speak for themselves.
It's been clear for a while now that Demba Ba would leave Chelsea this summer and I think he would be a perfect option for West Ham playing off of Andy Carroll.
The thing about Ba is that he WILL score goals wherever he goes and I am sure that West Ham will not be the only club looking to sign him this summer. One thing is certain, he will leave.
What do you think of Demba Ba and his contribution to Chelsea? Do you think my opinion of Ba is correct or do you disagree?
