Following on from my predicted "weaker" team to face Liverpool this weekend, I want to have a look at the possible starting eleven the manager will look to start with against Atletico to take us through to our second Champions League Final in three years!
As I have said previously, this is our best chance of silverware and Mourinho will set his side up to remain compact defensively, but to also attack Simeone's side. We WILL see a very different approach at Stamford Bridge.
Now we know that Petr Cech and John Terry are out injured. We await news on Samuel Eto'o, but hopefully Eden Hazard will be back for this one and joins Branislav Ivanovic who is available again after serving his one match ban last night. Frank Lampard and Mikel are both suspended for the second leg and Mohamed Salah and Nemanja Matic remain cup tied.
So bearing that in mind, who would the manager decide to go with? How does he decide to approach the game? Will it be in the same 4-3-3 formation or back to our tried and trusted 4-2-3-1 formation?
I predict it will be the 4-2-3-1 formation with Ramires and David Luiz playing in the holding roles. Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill will both start in the middle of the defense with Cesar Azpilicueta and Ashley Cole either side of the back four.
Willian, Oscar and Eden Hazard will play in the attacking midfield positions and Fernando Torres will lead the attack.
Here is my predicted starting eleven for the second leg and despite the players missing, still looks strong:
(4-2-3-1) Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Cole, Luiz, Ramires, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Torres.
What do you people think?
He'd rather start with schurrle than oscar..i guess he'd directly go with an aggressive line up
