Jose Mourinho has spoken ahead of Newcastle tomorrow and has been quick to point out that his Chelsea have a "collective soul" that has seen us win every game in October!
Mourinho said:
"It's important to go in the right direction, to play the way we were playing, we are improving, we feel we are improving, the quality of our game is good.
The results in this moment in the last month were fantastic because we won every match, every match in every competition in October and we had to play Schalke away, Man City at home, very difficult matches.
We won every match in October, so October magnificent for us but to be top or not to be top is a question in this moment of one point, two points and that is not very important. Of course it's better to be first than be fifth, that's obvious but no problem for us.
We go to Newcastle, we know we have one of the most difficult matches in the whole season. It's very, very difficult for us to play at St James' Park but that's it, I want to try." (Source)He's right and I have been thinking about it recently. Slowly but surely, it seems as though Jose is getting his message across to the players and in turn the players have bought into his philosophy and ideas 100%.
October has been fantastic compared to some of our early performances. For example at Everton away we created numerous chances and didn't take any, of late in the six games we have played in October, covering three different competitions, Chelsea have scored 18 goals!
Players are playing with smiles on their faces, enjoying their football with the fantastic Chelsea support week in, week out and are enjoying the fruition of their hard work with some really great results and performances of late. We just need to ensure we carry it on tomorrow!
