Forget the 8-0 drubbing of Aston Villa. Forget beating Leeds at Elland Road, Southampton in the FA Cup and Stoke away last weekend. Chelsea have turned into Jekyll and Hyde under Benitez and I hope Roman Abramovich has taken note that Chelsea's season is turning from bad to worse.

It's all well and good beating these teams but if you cannot get the job done at home then it's pointless.

Under Benitez at Stamford Bridge so far, Chelsea's record is as follows:

Played 7, Won 2, Drawn 3 and Lost 2.

We beat FC Nordsjaelland and Aston Villa. We have drawn against Manchester City, Fulham and now Southampton and have been beaten by QPR and Swansea.

Do you think that's good enough as Chelsea manager? Should Roman Abramovich agree?

The biggest issue I have at the moment with Rafa Benitez apart from the fact that I do not want him here, is his team selections and substitutions in games, especially when we are under pressure to get the right result.

In the last three home games against QPR, Swansea and Southampton last night he has made ridiculous errors in judgement.

Against QPR he started without Juan Mata and Eden Hazard and went with Marin, Oscar and Moses. When it was clear that we needed to push harder for the win, he took Marin off for Hazard (which is right) but then Moses off for Mata and left Oscar on?

Against Swansea he started with Oscar out wide again next to Mata and Hazard. Chelsea were 1-0 down after 38 minutes of the first half but Benitez waited until the 80TH MINUTE to take Torres off and then the 82ND MINUTE to take Oscar off and bring Marko Marin on!. Changes should have been made earlier!.

Last night he played Oscar out wide AGAIN next to Juan Mata and Eden Hazard and things were going OK even though Oscar isn't suited playing in that position. Chelsea were 2-0 up and comfortable. Southampton score one goal and get back in the game on 57 minutes and then an equaliser on 74 minutes. There would have been around 20 minutes to play including injury time so ONLY then he decides to change things and once more makes the WRONG decision. He takes Lampard off for Torres and plays Torres out wide???

Rafa Benitez does not react to situations as they happen in games quick enough and when he does they are the wrong decisions. He cannot keep blaming the players, he has to take some responsibility for the teams he  selects and the tactical substitutions he makes.

Look at Jose Mourinho for example. He always made substitutions in games reacting to a situation to try and change things for the better and quickly. Look at Sir Alex Ferguson he does the same. He doesn't sit around waiting for something to happen, he tried to affect the game quickly.

The thing is, Rafa Benitez has a remit to finish in the top four and to win a trophy this season and to him he will see that he has been a success this season at Chelsea if he does exactly that but it's time that we consider the fact that because of his failings in recent weeks, Chelsea could finish outside the top four AGAIN for the second season running and what happens then?

Will Roman and the Chelsea board do a Benitez and only react to this situation when it's too late?

It pains me to say this but Roman Abramovich will not make a change again and Rafa WILL remain in charge until May so we will have to continue to put up with watching him fail time and time again.

Why can't Roman Abramovich, Bruce Buck and Ron Gourlay sit down and take a look at ALL of Chelsea's performances under Rafa Benitez and then come back to me with an answer to my following question:
Has Rafa Benitez improved the team and taken us forward or are we worse off than we were under Di Matteo?
If the answer is no, then there is only one thing left to do and let's be honest here, you aren't shy of doing it are you!?

  2. Why don't you put this sentiments aside? I can say,I didn't read this kind of article during the reign of RDM. Why don't you get behind the team? Am sure u are one of the boo boys disturbing the team and the Manager @ the bridge. Why don't you think about this "why do we always get results away from home, and we flop at home"? You are one of the major contributor? Because u don't like Rafa's face,u want to distrupt the team? How much will you contribute to hiring a new gaffer? Just get a life my friend.

  3. Chelsea Daft will you take over from Rafa, stop whining in a situation like this you can only get behind the coach so come end of the season a top four spot and hopefully a trophy, Most chelsea fans are blinded by their love for RDM, he was'nt a world class coach and the fact that he got a deal was just because of the champions league. I no Rafa is not that great either but sack him now who do you bring in his place? A word for thought!

  4. I see no problem with pulling Lampard last night for Torres. Another striker was needed, and one of the back two midfielders had to go. Ramires can run hard all day, and Lampard had already run out of gas (not to mention he can't run like Ramires anyway). That position was going to be for cover and support at that point, not to score. If Lampard stays in there, runs into the box late to play hero, and they score on the break, that would have been devastating. NOW Torres missed the net when played through which certainly doesn't help the cause, but the move itself made sense. Lampard isn't 20 something anymore, and isn't the saviour.

  5. I like one of these comments: all these boo boys are making it 10times worser then rafa being in the interim manager part, yes we are winning away just imagen we start winning at home get 3 points here & there so lets not say KICK OUT RAFA BEFORE ITS TO LATE for now anyway

  6. Sorry man but it's people like you who are making Stamford Bridge a hell hole. Forget about rafa, it happened, nothing will change until may at the earliest. 7. I just dont understand y abrahamovic get a fixed manager and gve him smetym. Changing managers will obvsly affect the team performance. Y is he not goin after mourinho. And at dis point of tym he is not ready to increase the contract for lampard, when we all know that he is still the best blue.

  8. I was at the bridge last night and to be quite honest I was disgusted to call myself a Chelsea fan! Not because of Benitez not because of Torres, but because of the Chelsea fans!! I mean that is disgusting your suppose to support your team. Put it like this how can you blame Torres or Benitez for our recent form? It's a team game everyone is to blame! Yes I agree Torres is not good enough anymore but booing him is wrong. He got employed by the club he didn't just turn up and say I'm going to be the next big thing at chelsea did he and for Benitez it's not his fault he got given the job he was offered a lot of money and he took it like any normal person would... All I'm saying is support Chelsea don't turn up and boo them!! Ktbffh

  10. why dont you jump the ship and join arsenal fc.
Yes, its more than obvious you dont like Rafa not mention you wanting him to succeed.
Abrahamovich wanted barce's TIKI-TAKA while the team is relatively new, oscar to me regardless of any position he plays, he still a stranger to the premiership.
Some chelsea fans including you should take some sticks for 'BOOING' the gaffer whenever he introduces Torres and substitute Lampard.
Lampard to me, was selfish yesternight in the name of goal scoring record and was CRIMINALLY left on the pitch for so long. He was no where to be found during the second half and he created a big whole in the middle.
We all know how good jose is, but his present situation at real madrid is damn bad, compared with our situation and does that mean jose is a bad coach?
Judging by results, yes, jose is a bad coach with real madrid standard, with that gap.
Please let this man be and our club needs stability.
I was damn sure pep will never come to chelsea, regardless of what some papers have been writing that chelsea's frequent managers sacking wouldnt make him come here.
So, do we still need to be sacking all the time?
What would you have written if you were an arsenal fan, with the highest ticket price in yes rafa out, I THINK SOME CHELSEA FANS SHOULD ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SHAMBOLIC DISPLAY.
Some if not all ARE READY TO BOO RAFA FOR STARTING TORRES & FOR RESTING OR BENCHING LAMPARD, WHOM I FELT HE WAS SELFISH TODAY IN THE NAME OF RECORD BREAKING AND WAS GIVING TOO MUCH TIME ON THE PITCH..europe, if not the world?

torres makes 1 chance/90 mins, misses it, and hangs his head and says he's "struggling to adapt to life @ chelsea"
lanpard is a leader... torres and benitez sraw fans' anger. who would u rather have on the pitch/bench.

    2. Taken your anger out on Torres and Benitez is not the answer!! Support your team not boo them if anyone should be blamed its Roman but saying that he has brought the club alot of success since he has been there so just fucking lump it!! Or go support another team... Glory supporters are giving Chelsea a bad name!!

  12. I have to say I agree with Mr Daft. He has pretty much done this to all the teams he has managed since he left Liverpool. Inter & Livepool have not recovered since he failed to qualify for the Champions League with them. I'd rather not be the next casualty. He's not a bad coach, hell he could be a world beater, and has beaten the world at some point, but he really isn't the coach to take us further, whether its this. Season or the next. The problem with letting his interim phase play out is that, if we do and he fails to qualify for the Champions league, fails to win any trophies(looking ever so likely) we'll only have our self to blame for waiting too long. He said he had realised what the team's deficiencies were, why hasn't he moved in the transfer market to make up for them. And worst of all he's clueless during games, never making a change early enough for the game to be changed. A lot of articles suggest that he decided on what his subs will be during training and never has the presence of mind to alter them if we are up against it in a match. If we are going to become world beaters like Roman and all Chelsea fans want, he IS NOT the man to take use there, and if he won't have any play in our future, whether immediate of long-term, we should sack him. Hiring Benitez was always going to back-fired and apparently it may really back-fired spectacularly for us. Torres is still being played even though he's off form, Marin is still warming the bench, Oscar isn't being given game time, not one of our youth players are being given a look into the first team, Rafa is going about his time at Chelsea the wrong way. And after this, I don't see how Real Madrid would give him a chance to manage there. Let's face it, whether we get behind Rafa Benitez or not, he's just not good enough to manage us. You could almost say the the squad he had at Liverpool we rigid enough to play the way he wants, and that was. His saving grace for a number of his liverpool years. The most telling thing about Rafa is that in all the years he was at Liverpool he could never bag the League. He really isn't what we need right now.

  13. The biggest problem with Rafa is.......... He doesnt seem popular With any of the players who play for him, and you need players to believe in the managers tacticts and ideas and to bust a gut for him on match day! It was the same with AVB the players didn't like him and his ideas and it went wrong. As soon as RDM took over he united the players and they guinuenly liked him and we started to win matches again! If you look at mourinho he is the best man manager in the world! His teams would die for him on the pitch And everytime he leaves a club the players are devastated! Rafa has no personality and his tactics are very strange at times I really don't think he has a long term future at Chelsea But whoever we bring in must be given more time than the other managers
