Romelu Lukaku yesterday signed a deal with West Brom on loan for this coming season and immediately spoke of playing first team football. He said:
'I'm very excited. After last season, where I was able to adjust and prepare for this season, I can't wait to start at West Brom.(Source)
It's very important because, like Chelsea, West Brom play in the Premier League, but it will also be a good learning school for me where I need to work hard with the players around me.
I've heard a lot of positives about Steve Clarke here and it will be important for me to listen and learn from him. He plays good football.'
I personally think it's a great move for Lukaku AND for Chelsea! Let's be honest here, it's obvious he has ability and natural talent but he has looked raw ever since he signed. He has come on at times during games (granted that AVB used to bring him on down the wing!) and has looked a little out of his depth, so this move will really see him bed in to the Premier League.
Like at any other club, Lukaku needs to work hard to earn the right to play but there is little doubt about that. It's just being given the chance though isn't it.
I honestly believe we could end up with another Didier Drogba on our hands when it comes to Lukaku but he needs time.
Let's hope this move works out for everyone concerned and have a very different player at the club next season!.
Good luck Romelu Lukaku! Make it count!.
KTBFFH!
Love the move...lukaku needed I get first team experience in the Pl. he wasn't going to be happy playing in the under 21 league and i don't see him forcing his way into the club at Chelsea this season. As the article says he has obvious ability but really is still very raw. I can see lukaku getting a lot of games at west brom and he needs to get accustom to playing against the tough defense of Pl teams. If he gets games, which I think he will, I foresee this loan move benefitting all parties involved. This is a great move. Good luck lukaku and show us all what you've got!
