In his Press conference in Seattle ahead of tonight's game, RDM was asked about Florent Malouda and he said:
"I still haven't had a chance to speak to Florent, so I need to speak to him first and see what his intentions are, then we will see what the best interests are for him and the club."
It's an open and frank statement from RDM and I like it. He doesn't mix his words which is refreshing and considering Santos of Brazil has said that Malouda had been offered to them by Chelsea, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days with this one.
I think if you ask any Chelsea fan they will be of the opinion that when Malouda is on form he is a really good player for us BUT, when he isn't he is a liability. Unfortunately, in recent times, he has been more of a liability than being the outstanding player he was for us in our double winning season.
For me, Malouda always seems quite laboured with the ball these days and with the pace of game now as it is, he became found out towards the end of last season and quickly lost his place in the side under RDM.
Malouda doesn't fit our 4-2-3-1 formation now whereas other players will and it's my opinion that Malouda could be leaving us before the end of the transfer window in August.
I do want to say just one thing on Malouda. He was outstanding and played a huge part in our double winning season like I said. Apart from that, we have only seen instances of that but not regular enough and I think that's fair comment.
So with a meeting due to take place asap - Florent Malouda, it's over to you!.
