Now that's a bid I never expected according to SkySportsNews. Chelsea have had a bid for Victor Moses turned down in recent days but ARE expected to make an improved offer shortly.
Moses is 21 and had his best season in the Premier League last term scoring six goals in 37 appearances. Moses played a huge part in Wigan's revival towards the end of last season on the wing and became such an influential player for them.
I do have to wonder whether or not he would want to come to Chelsea though. It's obvious that Di Matteo has a choice of playing Hazard, Mata or Malouda on the left at the moment.
With the pursuit of Hulk looking like going on right through the summer and rumours of a bid for Hatem Ben Arfa in the offing, Moses would surely come into the squad as cover.
That's the problem these days at the big clubs though isn't it. Look at Adam Johnson at Man City. Used as a bit part player, he could arguably start games week in, week out elsewhere and that's would be the situation for Moses if Wigan accepted an offer from Chelsea, and the club was given permission to speak to him.
Hopefully with the fact that Chelsea are involved in plenty of competitions this season, with the number of games we will have to play in such short spaces of time again as the fixtures pile up around the Intercontinental Cup and Super Cup, Di Matteo can convince everyone in the squad and potential signings that they will play a big part this season.
Only then it will be up to Victor Moses to decide whether he wants to a part of Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea revolution.

I really do not expect chelsea to bid for him, & I pray no 2nd bid is made. Cuz his goal & assist in a team almost built around him is not impressive, and the fact that we have: lucas Piazon, kevin de bruyne, gael kakuta. These ones can be used as cover & can arguably develop to become better than him.
ReplyDeleteCool let's get him .I watched some of he's games he's got unbelivable strenght & decent spend .I think he would be a good back up for chelsea since his jst [21].£8m should seal the deal . Lol
ReplyDeleteI think we rather need a CM. Lets get someone like Andre Castro from Porto.
