CHELSEA v NEWCASTLE: IT'S ALL OR NOTHING!.

There is no question that tonight is important. So much so, right now this game is more important than the FA CUP final AND Champions League final because of the club's desire to finish in the top four.

We could win the FA CUP but we wouldn't qualify for next seasons Champions League by doing so. We have a chance to win the Champions League on 19th May but there is a chance we won't dependant on how we perform on the day.

The only way we can control where we finish or is to play our part and hope that Tottenham slip up at some stage along the way. Finishing fourth is our priority and once the season is over, only then will focus turn to the Champions League Final. Hopefully, we would have finished fourth before the game takes place.

So what of the game tonight? After our impressive win over QPR with some players rested in one way or another, it will be interesting to see how RDM approaches this one with Wembley being three days away.

We saw how Liverpool rested nine players last night in preparation for the weekend and I wonder if Robbie will do the same with Chelsea? The difference being, Robbie has rotated players from game to game and kept the team strong and I think he will do the same again tonight.

He must look at the two players we have for each position now and decide who he will use in the FA CUP and who will feature in the Champions League final. At the end of the day, he can't play everyone but the four suspensions for the CL Final will force his hand.

Think of those four players that will miss Munich for a second. They are JT, Ramires, Meireles and Ivanovic. I would say now on record they will all start the FA CUP final. So will Robbie also play them tonight?

I think that three of the four will play tonight. JT and Ivanovic will start at the back with Bosingwa and Cole either side. I also think that Ramires will start tonight but Meireles will be rested and will play both games against Liverpool.

Mikel was rested at the weekend for Michael Essien and I think they will swap over tonight. Frank Lampard will continue next to Mikel as our midfield two.

I think Ramires will start on the right and Sturridge will move over to the left to start with as they play either side of Juan Mata once again.

Up front, I think it's a toss up as to who starts tonight because I believe Drogba will start the CL Final and Torres the FA CUP Final. I would go with Drogba tonight because he is fresh.

So to summarise, I believe this will be our team that starts against Newcastle:

TEAM: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry(C), Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Sturridge, Mata, Ramires, Drogba.

SUBS: Turnbull, Bertrand, Essien, Meireles, Kalou, Torres and Malouda.

So what of Newcastle?

A very dangerous side to play against because of their form and position in the league but probably now even more so because of what happened at the weekend at Wigan!.

The front three are a handful which is why I think Cole will start instead of Bertrand. Cisse, Demba Ba and Ben Arfa will give anyone something to think about and we will need to be at our best to deal with them at the back.

Any Newcastle weakness?

Yes there is and Chelsea can capitalise tonight. I haven't had the time to produce photo's for you so you can see what I mean but I will try and explain it anyway.

Their weakness believe it or not is their midfield three. Tiote is the holding midfielder but against Wigan he was dragged all over the place. He was caught out of position more often than not as he became sucked out wide towards the ball. As he did that, the other two also did the same which meant there was loads of space on the opposite side for Wigan to push men forward.

At least two of the Wigan goals at the weekend came from this happening. If Chelsea can switch the play from side to side quickly, we should be able to get men over and create them problems.

Juan Mata could become key again tonight if Chelsea are to win the game.

Summary.

This is quite simply all or nothing tonight and anything but a win will be a disaster. Everything we have achieved so far would be forgotten if we lose or draw tonight and that's football for you.

I do believe that Chelsea will win tonight purely and simply because of confidence. It's been spoken about many times before but when confidence is high throughout the squad, results seem to go your way and that's exactly what has been happening of late.

Chelsea have an advantage over Newcastle of having a stronger squad and better options if required from the bench and that could be key.

So come on Chelsea, you've done well so far in recent weeks and closed the gap from seven points to just one. Let's make sure you play well and get the right result and then we will see if Bolton can do us a favour.

Chelsea to win by three goals tonight. I know Newcastle fans it may be harsh but even you guys can see just how well we are playing and how many goals we are scoring..
