REALLY BAD NEWS FOR CHELSEA!

Chelsea and Branislav Ivanovic were dealt a massive blow yesterday as the FA decided to charge him with violent conduct after an incident during the Wigan game last weekend.

Being caught on camera, there was no way that Ivanovic would have gotten away with what he did and now faces the consequences which could be a three match ban.



If, he is banned for three games, they could potentially be, Arsenal away, QPR at home and Newcastle at home which are three key games in our push for fourth place. It could even be brought forward to this weekends FA Cup Semi Final with Tottenham meaning he would be free for the Newcastle game.

The statement released by the FA read as follows:

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has today [Tuesday 10 April 2012] been charged by The FA with violent conduct following an incident in his side's game against Wigan Athletic.

Ivanovic was involved in an incident with Wigan's Shaun Maloney, which was not seen by the Match Officials, but caught on video, during his side's 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 7 April 2012.

Ivanovic has until 6pm on 11 April 2012 to respond to the charge.

It's a ridiculous thing to do knowing the coverage the games get these days and what was he thinking?.

Chelsea WILL now have a defensive dilemma. Paulo Ferreira played fantastically well in Lisbon the other week and will be under consideration for his experience as he is the better defender than Jose Bosingwa.

Bosingwa would come under consideration for his use of the ball going forward and his pace but for me it has to be David Luiz now at right back alongside Terry and Cahill.

Luiz is better with the ball at his feet and use of the ball than Bosingwa and is a better defender than he is so for me he is the obvious replacement.

The thing is, we shouldn't even be in this position thinking about replacing Ivanovic should we!.

At least he gets rested for both Barcelona games!.
