Guardiola offered "Total control" of Chelsea?

We have all seen the news that Pep Guardiola has decided not to renew his contract and will quit Barcelona at the end of the season. He has said that he wants to take time out, away from football and concentrate on other things while he recharges his batteries. It was a surprising announcement when the news broke but one you could understand.

Guardiola looked tired as he went through a whole range of emotions on the sideline the other night and even beforehand in the press conference, he snapped and swore at Journalists which is unheard of.

Now I want to state on record here that I believe Guardiola and think he will take one or two years away from football but the press over here are insistent that Roman Abramovich will pursue Guardiola to meet with him and to try and persuade him to take over at Chelsea.

It's believed that Guardiola will be offered "total control" of Chelsea by Abramovich including how the club is run, the structure and players being bought and sold.

Guardiola however is believed to have reservations about coming here because of the amount of managerial changes and the pressure of getting instant success at the club but he HAS spoken to Carlo Ancelotti about the job.

I just wonder if he could be persuaded but to come after a year out? Who's to say that Roberto Di Matteo isn't charged with the task of seeing things through for next season and then Guardiola comes?.

I personally hope that Roberto Di Matteo is given the job full time because he deserves it. He has galvanised the players and has taken us to TWO major finals in the FA CUP and Champions League.

If this story is true, then who's to say that Guardiola will have the instant success here because being honest, it will be a big, big ask to recreate the brand of football we have seen at Barcelona for the last three years.

Come on Roman, give Di Matteo the blank cheque and give him a chance. He deserves it so much!.
