I read a comment made by Carlo Ancelotti yesterday about possible transfer targets and when Fernando Torres' name came up I immediately thought bollocks!. I thought straight away that the press would make his comments out to be something that they aren't and when I woke up this morning I was proved right.
When asked about possible signings in this transfer window, Ancelotti the newly appointed boss of Paris Saint Germain said:
"There is a lot of choice for this January market, Do you want the names? OK, now I tell you the players that agent are offering on the market, officially or not: Tévez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente."(Source)
Now I have taken what he is saying as tongue in cheek to the media. The key point here is that he says "Officially or not". In other words he is making light of all the names he is being linked with or he has been offered according to the media.
I for one do not believe that Fernando Torres will be offered by Chelsea to anyone. Fernando Torres is a long term investment, part of AVB's transition plans and he will have a side built around him with players brought in to help him and the club become successful once again.
In relation to helping him succeed and following on from my blog post yesterday, I was pleased to hear Chelsea's Assistant Coach Steve Holland speaking to Chelsea TV to confirm exactly how hard Torres is working to put things right. He said:
"Fernando is working very hard at his finishing in training. We do a lot of finishing as part of the sessions anyway but he is doing extra at the end of every session during the week.(Source)
His finishing is looking very good in training, the ball is flying in. I have personally spent some time with him on making sure [he's in the right position]. Sometimes when you're trying hard to score, you end up in areas where you're less likely to score. It's not a bad crime, it's only because he's so determined."
One thing I will give Fernando Torres credit for is his hard work. The bloke gives his all in every single game and although he hasn't scored lately, he continues to work hard for the team, proving assists and creating chances for other people.
If only the other people he is doing it for, do the bloody same for him!

I really hope Torres comes gd. He is working hard but he's running out wide to much. That's down to our players though who aren't looking for him quick enough. As soon our midfielders start looking for Torres when they pick the ball up high up the pitch, he will start looking to make runs in behind and start to play on the shoulders of defenders. Due to the way we are playing he never gets any clear chances to score in matches and is having to try to hard to create chances for himself from a deep position which isn't his game!
