News has broken this morning as the now the transfer window is open, that Alex will speak to QPR about a possible move to Loftus Road as early as today.
Some people have questioned with all our injury problems lately, as to why Alex has been frozen out and not called back into the squad but you have to give credit to AVB for sticking to his guns.
It would have been easy to recall the Brazilian but to do that after accepting a transfer request would I guess, make you look stupid in front of the other players are originally making a stand about him.
Alex has been a great servant for Chelsea over the years, think back to our double winning season in particular, he forced Ricardo Carvalho out of the side with his performances and Riccy eventually left. The problem is, Alex in my view, has struggled to rediscover that kind of form for a number of reasons including playing enough games.
If QPR sign him then fair play and they would have a bargain for £2m. I am surprised other Premier League sides haven't been interested in him but I guess that also could be because of his wages.
I do wish Alex well. We won't hold any grudges against him because of the way he played and the way he has handled himself at the club.
It's just a shame we never got to see the Alex of the double winning side again!.
