That's the verdict of AVB has he took on his press conference with the media ahead of tomorrow's game against Newcastle.
As we all know the pressure on the manager here is immense according to the media because of the levels of expectation that is demanded by the owner. AVB was quick to defend his role here and said:
"I am 100 per cent certain I will be at Chelsea at the end of the season. Sure, sure. We have a three-year project here and we all believe in it. Even if we go out of the Champions League and don't win the Premier League, I will keep my job. I am very confident of that.(Source)
I don't think it is at crisis point. We just have to pull ourselves together again. We can only apply ourselves to hard work and continue to believe we are going to get out of this situation. When does it become a crisis? At the end of the season when you are able to reflect on whether you have won trophies or not.
But I'll never change my philosophy about the way I want my teams to play. Philosophy is not a cancer, we are not speaking about something which is wrong. The players are taking on board what they are being asked to do.
Any season that you go without a trophy is a failure for a club of this dimension. And yes, I think I will get time to evolve with this squad. I have that assurance. Talks with the club are always ongoing — and they have been fully supportive.
December is not a defining month for me. We are just looking to progress. For me and other managers, a lot is at stake."
He is determined to stick with his principles and you have to applaud him for that. Of course I just want our high defensive line scrapped and for us to get back to basics with our defending like most Chelsea fans do.
As far as the way we play going forward it takes a bit of getting used to, but the signs are encouraging (apart from playing a formation the other night against Liverpool that was too narrow and the players hadn't practised!).
I agree that we aren't in crisis at the moment but with 6 defeats already this season we soon will be if we do not start winning games starting this week. If we lose tomorrow and Tuesday night, then we will have to face the reality of a fight to finish top four this season and facing playing in the Europa league!!!
