One thing you have to agree about Fernando Torres, he has never hidden away from his struggles he had at Chelsea last season. When questioned about it at the time, he answered every single question about his form and the doubters time and time again.
This season we have seen a very different Fernando Torres. OK, he still has had some "moments" so far this season I am sure he would want to forget, but still he continues to look forward and work hard.
Fernando Torres is well on the way to getting back to his best in my opinion and has shown a real difference this season already compared to last. He openly admitted that last summer was the first time in five years he had the chance of complete rest to then return to a full pre season injury free.
His hunger is back, his movement is back, he looks fit and sharp and has shown us all this season already that it's almost as if he is a different player.
Chelsea fans took to Torres as soon as we signed him because we knew just how good he was especially against us, and the relief inside the ground when he scored his first goal at the Bridge is something we all felt at the time.
We have stuck by him through thick and thin and it's because of the support he's always had from us, that he feels he owes us. He said:
"It's not new to have difficulties, You can go through difficult times and I look at myself and say I can reach a higher level.(Source)
All that is needed, above all, is to work hard. If you work hard and give everything you can you will get the breaks in the end. I have a debt to the crowd that has always supported me and I will never give up."
It's always nice to hear from a big, big player when he speaks of the fans. Just for us to get some form of acknowledgement from one of our idols on match day is fantastic. To hear Torres openly admit that he feels he owes us for always supporting him, when he didn't have to, is first class in my book and a sign of the man he is.
Everyone goes through hard times on the pitch at some stages in their careers, when it happens to the most expensive player in the Premier League it's headline news.
Fernando Torres will continue to work hard and will score plenty of goals for Chelsea. All we ask is that he gives his everything for the shirt, his team mates and the supporters and so far he has done that.
Add a bucketful of goals this season starting with the winner on Sunday against his old side would be even better!
