What a difference a week makes in football. With four goals in our last two games against Valencia and Bolton, Lampard has reacted in the right way.
I have to say that personally, I was sick to death of the rubbish being touted around the media about Frank Lampard. Even people on here were doubting him and maybe at the time quite rightly so because of his performances so far this season.
Frank was still working hard and you could see when he was dropped or taken off, he wasn't happy and it did hurt him.
I wrote a post a while back about Lampard stating that now he has been relieved of the burden of creativity in the side with the likes of Meireles and Mata here now, he can stick to what he is good at and that's getting on the end of things. I stated that "he will come good again."
Yesterday, he did exactly that and scored a hat trick and answered all his critics in the perfect way. He was involved in all but one of his goals in the build up and still got himself in the box was his customary late run and finished with ease.
For me to get the best out of Lampard we have to move the ball forward quickly. He still has the energy to get up and down and showed it yesterday. He said himself after the game:
"I am still able to get up there and score, I have always tried to do that and playing with the quality of players that I do at Chelsea, I know that if I keep getting in there then the chances come. Daniel Sturridge put the first one on a plate for me, and Didier Drogba the last one.So to all the doubters of Lampard I am wondering where they are today?. Do you still feel the same and what was your view on his performance yesterday?. I am aware it was only one game, but you have to look as his performance in a very good team performance and be realistic. Chelsea have the potential to play like that week in, week out and if we do, who's to say Lampard will not score another 20 goals this season?
I have played for a long time and there is no way you can be on top, top form all the time, Not even Lionel Messi can do that and the rest of us, we have to keep working hard and then when the little dips come and people will always make a big deal of it, you have to keep your head down and let your football do the talking.
It is not always plain sailing and you just have to stay strong and let other people do the talking. If you do that and you keep working then things come for you and they came for me today.
I believe I can move the ball quickly and always have done, I have my own style and I try to arrive in the box more than other people but I always try to move the ball quickly in the team and that showed today."
