Well that's what The Mirror believe with their article that has appeared in the paper and online this morning.
The article believes that due to Stoke's physical approach to the game, Drogba will be given the nod and Torres will be a substitute. Now as usual we have to remember this is the British press we are talking about here. Just before (they know) we play our last pre season game against Rangers, and with another week of training ahead of our first Premier League game next weekend, they are obviously trying to ruffle up a few feathers.
If Chelsea were playing at home against one of the "lesser" Premiership sides and I mean no disrespect to any of those sides, then I guess we all would look into AVB's team selection and try to pick the bones out of it so to speak. This is Stoke after all, who have become part and parcel of Premier League football and have, let's be honest, done really well to become as established as they have done. They are in Europe this season!.
So for me, I wouldn't look into AVB's selection and think that it means something like Drogba is our number one over Torres at all. Like I have said on numerous occasions, AVB is a thorough manager and will prepare "his Chelsea team" to get the job done and get three points.
To me that means the likes of Drogba, Mikel, JT, Ivanovic and Alex will all start the game due to their physical strength and presence in the air.
So do me a favour people, ignore all this Torres has failed to impress nonsense. It's about getting an important three points on the board and that is all that matters.
What do you people think? Do you think it's a sign of Drogba getting one over Torres as the Mirror's article is trying to make out? Or, do you feel the same as me?
