Everyone has written Chelsea off this season haven't they and doesn't it really frustrate and wind you up? It does me, but in a way I prefer that because I have a feeling that come May next year, there will be alot of these "pundits" that will have egg on their faces.
As usual, most of the flack is aimed at the Chelsea "old guard" in the likes of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. JT was quick to point out yesterday that the impression you read from the media, isn't what goes on day in day out at the training ground.
He said:
"I know there's this feeling out there that players like myself, Lampard, Didier and Pete [Cech] - the players that have been there for a long time - take our place in the team for granted.(Source)
But it's the complete opposite. We are the ones day-in day-out who dig deep, getting everyone together making sure we are setting the example.
When we play a five-a-side, it's the players like me, Didier, Lampard and Ash who care and say: "It's not okay to lose 3-0 in training."
Now I don't know how many of you Chelsea fans reading this all over the world have some sort of access to ChelseaTV. If you missed it then you missed two fantastic interviews with John Terry and Frank Lampard when they were out in the Far East.
Both of them, were quick to point out just how hungry they still are for success and how they both feel fit, strong and ready to continue for a few years yet.
How many times do we hear the argument about our players age and I have to be honest I am getting bored of it. OK, granted they are in their 30's but we aren't exactly talking about any old footballers here. We aren't talking about your average Premier League footballers. We are talking about three world class footballers with something to prove this season.
JT has been written off time and time again. "He's too slow","He's lost it" and so on has been said, even by some of our own supporters. It's about what you have upstairs in your reading of the game as well as the physical aspect of the game that's important and for me you would be hard pushed to find someone better in their ALL ROUND GAME in that position. With the EURO 2012 tournament next summer coming up, JT will be keen to reiterate exactly why he is ours and England's captain.

Frank Lampard has plenty to prove if anything to himself. Hampered by serious injury for the first time in his career last season, he struggled with confidence that he could get back to being 100% fit and back to the old Frank Lampard. I think he has openly admitted that.
I have had people on here writing him off once again because he is 33 years old and that is the basis of their argument which is rubbish in my view. We have to remember that last season hurt Frank in many ways and before last season, scoring 20+ goals became a habit for him each season.
Frank Lampard will be looking to prove to any doubters he still has it in himself to perform for a good few seasons yet at the highest level starting with this weekend. Chelsea missed Frank Lampard last season and like I said before, this year it's his determination to prove it to himself that will push him on to 20+ goals once again.
As for Didier Drogba, what is there to be said that hasn't already been said about him in his time at the club. Having to live with the constant comparison, rumour and speculation of his position at the club since the arrival of Fernando Torres, Didier's form at times in the second half of last season suffered as a result after battling with Malaria for the first part.
If you put Didier Drogba up for sale right now, there would be a whole host of MAJOR club's in for him, wanting to sign him as he still is the best there is as an ALL ROUND STRIKER.
After a free scoring season that took us to the double, and the drama's of last term, Didier Drogba will be as motivated and as hungry as anyone to prove to the world that he still has something to give Chelsea and the Premier League this season.
The bonus would be to have him and Torres click as a partnership so let's see if AVB can succeed where Ancelotti couldn't.

Make no mistake, these three are hungry for more success and to prove all the doubters wrong this season. You are a fool to think otherwise.
