SUMMERS OVER - TIME FOR A NEW DAWN AT CHELSEA!

The players have had their time off, been on their holidays, have relaxed away from football and are about to spend their final weekend together with friends and families before the new beginning starts at Cobham this week.

It's been a time to reflect for all of us fans on the previous season, on Carlo leaving, on the constant speculation regarding who the manager was going to be, the names we have been linked with from Neymar to Sneijder, Modric to Falcao and others.

There is no question, we all miss our football. We try and do what we can to fill the void and luckily enough for me, I get to blog about the club we love so it keeps me busy. However, nothing can replace the buzz of football during the season. We move from game to game spending a short amount of time looking back at the previous result before we have to refocus on the next. It's literally only days..

The summer is a totally different story for us. We see all the rumours, talk about them, discuss them and wait to see what happens. If anything the speculation had reached fever pitch until Andre Villas-Boas came in and spoke of taking his time to see what he has at the club first, then to make decisions about who goes and who comes in.

That's why I can't understand the papers still going on and on about Chelsea making bids for players at the moment when the message was clear from AVB.

So what about the players?. They too have had time to reflect on each of their individual seasons. We are human beings and we all know in our heart and in our minds if we haven't performed the best we can and that's in any walk of life no just football, so it will be interesting to see the attitude of the players who know they weren't good enough at different stages of last season.

Of course there will be the ones who did play well that will look forward to the new season, players who have become well and truly part of furniture will have a new sense of optimism and will look forward to the new beginning at the club.

Only next week we will begin to find out if some of those players need to fight for their futures again at the club. To earn their places and re-established themselves with the new management at the club and this is what excites me the most.

I simply cannot state this enough to all you Chelsea fans reading this at the moment, think back, we weren't far off really were we? Considering where we found ourselves to how we fought back to being one game away from being top of the league once more!.

We just lacked that missing "edge" to our game to take us there, and that's why I believe with the new beginning we now have at the club this week, with the potential we have already at the club and with one or two additions to make us even stronger, the future for Chelsea is already looking better and we haven't even started yet.

So it's about time for all of us to refocus on the new season, for the players to do the same, to work harder than ever to ensure that Chelsea are right back in the frame in all four competitions next season. We heard AVB say it the other day, it's what Roman Abramovich wants and it's what we are aiming for next season.

I wonder what kind of odds we will get on Chelsea to win all four next season would be if we were to put on a football bet right now?

So Chelsea fans, enjoy your weekend whatever you do. Have fun, drink loads and be happy and let's all look forward to the journey we are about to take together with a really exciting young management team we now have at the club.

Who knows where it will take us?
