One negative thing for me and this is only purely based on speculation for me is the future of Danny Sturridge at Chelsea. Sturridge like the rest of the players at Chelsea will meet with AVB and have his chance to impress.
If as expected, AVB decided to line up in our 4-3-3 formation with just the one striker through the middle then we HAVE TO believe that Fernando Torres will be the main striker, with possibly Didier Drogba playing off of him.
In addition to this, there are growing rumours about Porto striker Radamel Falcao following AVB to the club this summer which in my opinion puts Sturridge even further down the pecking order.
Sturridge himself has said on record that he wants to be playing regularly in the Premier League and if he is unable to do that, he will look to move on either another loan deal or permanent move and I just wonder if he will look to start again somewhere else?.
If this report is to be believed in today's Mirror, Stoke are about to offer Chelsea £6m for him and you would have to believe that the club would be tempted to cash in on a player on a reported £55,000 per week.
I could be totally wrong here and I know quite a few of the regular readers of my blog have been calling for Sturridge to get his chance and he still may be given the chance he deserves under our new regime but it does look alot less likely now.
Could we be seeing Chelsea cash in on a born, natural goalscoring English talent this summer? We shall see in the coming weeks.

Stuff that! Who needs Falcao when you have Sturridge? The boy is dying to play for the club and doing everything in his capacity to achieve that.
ReplyDeleteIf the club sell him- why would any youngster come to Chelsea?
