WHY BRING AVRAM GRANT BACK!?

I want to go on record to state that I have nothing personal against Avram Grant, I am sure he is a good man. However, why on earth (if reports are to be believed) would Chelsea want to bring him back to Stamford Bridge?. I was reading this report and quite frankly couldn't believe my eyes. The report states that Grant's agent, Pini Zahavi who has close links with Chelsea has said:

"Avram will be back working in football and he will have better times. He has an offer from Chelsea but I'm not sure that he wants to work as a technical manager. He would rather be on the touchline."

Why would we want to bring him in as a technical director? What does a technical director do at the club and does this position involve taking some responsibilities away from our Manager?.

There is an ongoing argument at the moment amongst the Chelsea fans about Roman and the way he gets involved at the club (discussed in my recent live radio interview this week). I am referring to player purchases etc etc. Quite a few of you believe that the Manager should be accountable for all footballing matters at the club and I have to say I do agree.

Getting back to Grant, I really cannot for the life of me see why this is a positive move for Chelsea. Let's be honest, he took Jose Mourinho's team to the Champions League final, he didn't cover himself in glory at Portsmouth although they lost to us in the FA Cup final (with the majority of the side built by Harry Redknapp) and this season at West Ham, he has been found out once again.

Chelsea need to move forward now in preparation for next season and in my view, bringing Avram Grant back to the club would be a step backwards!
