The reason I am asking you is because of the interview that Tony Cascarino has given Sky Sports this morning. Of course Cascarino is first up to have a pop at his old side even though I personally cannot understand how he is a pundit on there bearing in mind he isn't exactly a decorated successful player in his own right.
When asked about the result yesterday he said:
This season has been a failure for Chelsea, And if you're failing there are going to be scapegoats and the manger will be in the firing line. Yes, Ancelotti won the double last year. That bought him time. But the problem this season hasn't been that they've lost games but the way they've been beaten.
The biggest disappointment for Chelsea fans on Sunday was how feeble an effort Chelsea made, especially in the first 45 minutes when they were totally over run by Manchester United. The manner of Chelsea's defeats this season has been really eye opening.
I've said all season if it doesn't work out the manger will go. The club have spent an awful lot of money and they have to be successful. But I think they have also got to look at two or three really big name players who have achieved a lot at Chelsea and say 'thank you, but it's time to move on.'
Big clubs always make big decisions. Sir Alex Ferguson has got rid of Jaap Stam, Ruud van Nistelrooy and David Beckham to name a few. Sometimes in football you have to move successful players out the door and make changes. Chelsea just aren't good enough at the moment.
The Chelsea midfield has to be able to deal with things better than they did. Michael Essien has been really poor this season and Jon Obi Mikel didn't get round the United midfield at all. Ryan Giggs is 37 years old and he totally dominated that area.
Chelsea need drive and pace in that midfield because if you haven't got any athleticism in there you are going to get over run.
The best sides in Europe have a midfield who will not let the opposition do what they want - but on Sunday, in the opening 45 minutes, United absolutely dominated, which allowed their forwards to be inspirational."
I agree with what he is saying about the way we played yesterday, I'm not so sure about the telling some of our big players that it's time to move on at the moment and I do not agree with getting rid of Carlo.
I said late last night (where many of you have given your opinion) that we need to remember where we were, and where we have come from this season to where we are now so bearing in mind the problems we have had, I do not believe it has been a failure as we have still qualified for Champions League football which at one stage was a big worry. We made three big signings for our future in Torres, Luiz and Ramires so I disagree it's been a failure.
However, this is the first season in six that we haven't won anything.
So I am asking all Chelsea fans reading this now to give your point of view as it will be interesting to hear:
Has this season been a failure?
