I think especially after the last two games it's a fact that Chelsea will not win the league this season. Let's hold our hands up and be honest. There have been too many things that have affected us on the pitch with Alex being out for three months, Lampard being out for three months, Drogba's Malaria, Essien's suspension, JT missing games and the lack of squad depth that have cost us this season in addition to the sacking of Ray Wilkins. I know everyone has injuries, but when it involves the core of your side you will struggle.
However, with all of this being in the past (apart from Alex) and with Luiz and Torres added to our ranks with such a massive run of games between now and the end of the season, I am beginning to believe that the title is now Arsenal's to lose. Chelsea can win the title for Arsenal this season and that is the simple truth.
Chelsea have to play United twice, City and Spurs at home. If Chelsea can win all those games (especially against United and City) and believe me, we will do everything thing we can do to so, and Arsenal keep plugging away and picking up points, then the title could be passed from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates this season.
It pains me to say it of course, but in my view if Chelsea can't win it, I would rather see Arsenal win it rather than United, City or Spurs!.
I guess it just depends on Arsenal now. How they will they cope against Barcelona and will it affect the rest of their season?.
Chelsea will be going all out to pick up as many wins between now and the end of the season including the FA Cup and Champions League and are just finding the right balance up front to so do so. If we can get our hands on the Champions League and FA Cup and finish 2nd or 3rd then I would of course be happy with that. If it means by doing that Arsenal win the league, then so be it.
Mark my words, it's in Arsenal's hands to lose now.
