Simon Kjaer to sign on Monday?

David Luiz and Chelsea's reported interest has taken many of the recent headlines but it seems that Chelsea have become frustrated at Benfica's unwillingness to budge on their asking price for the player. So in light of the situation it seems that Carlo has persuaded the club to take an interest in Simon Kjaer of Wolfsburg.

However, not only have Chelsea taken an interest in the player, it now seems that an official formal bid of £12.5m has been lodged and accepted by the German club and it's being reported that Chelsea could seal their first signing of this January window on Monday.

As reported here and here it seems that Carlo is a long time admirer of Kjaer ever since his days of playing in Italy. Kjaer's move to Wolfsburg doesn't seem to have worked out for both parties so a deal for the player would be beneficial.

At 21 years of age I am wondering if it would prove to be a sound investment. I mean let's be honest here, do we really know enough about the player?.

I guess we will find out on Monday if this is the case or if this is and only has been pure speculation.
