Redknapp "Tottenham on same level as Chelsea!"

This article quoting an interview with Harry Redknapp has caught my attention today. The title of the article reads "Spurs are on the same level as Arsenal, United and Chelsea" and he is quoted in the article as saying:

“I think it is wide open, The top five teams have all got a chance. Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal are the favourites, Man City have got a fantastic squad, but no-one’s on a different level this year.

It’s all closed up this year. Games are getting harder to pick up three points. Bolton can turn anybody over on any given day and there’s no gimmes any more. So, I think the league is wide open this year. And there’s not a team that is on a completely different level to the rest. It's very, very tight this season.”

The reason that it caught my attention is simple. We have been bad. We have been awful and have taken just five points out of a possible 18 in the Premier League. This is the reason that the league has closed up. Yes I understand that other sides have invested in their squads and there is an argument that Spurs have the best squad of players at the moment.

However, we need to get some perspective here. Chelsea sit third in the League two points off the top of the Premier League despite only taking five points. That alone should serve as a warning to the rest of the League that we are still there, right in it.

I firmly believe that once we get our players back and we get firing again we will get back top of the league in no time. I said it before that there is no need to panic and it is still in our hands with the three games coming up against Tottenham, Man United and Arsenal. If we win all three (granted it is a big ask, but one we have the quality to do) then the crisis everyone is talking about will be over.

Spurs have closed the gap, of that there is no question. When we get everyone back fully fit and firing you have to question whether or not they are on the same level.
