Didier Drogba spoke to the Sky Camera's after the game last night and basically told it exactly how it is and I have to say I was really impressed with the way he spoke and what he had to say and it has filled me with renewed optimism that our "blip" could well be over.
When asked about the Ray Wilkins situation, Carlo's position and the bad results we have suffered in recent weeks, Drogba said:
"The manager made it clear that he is here and I think we have to focus on the games, on the results. We have to try to resolve our problems because we are not paying well. We don't speak about this (speculation over Ancelotti's future). We stayed focused on the game we lost against Birmingham. We wanted to go back to winning ways.He is exactly right in my opinion. You can plan for anything and everything in football. Organise yourselves tactically and set yourselves up to cope with the opposition but to win the game. That all goes flying out the window if your players do not turn up on the day.
Of course we miss Ray but the players are still the same. If we are losing it is not because Ray has gone, it is down to the players".
For me, there have been far too many "big name" players who have failed to deliver at City, Liverpool and at home to Sunderland and it's good to hear Drogba giving everyone a "reminder" to focus on getting the right results.
Let's hope yesterday has been a step back in the right direction!
