How about Cole for Captain?

Is it just me or do the rest of you agree with me when I disagree with the choice of Didier Drogba as Captain in the absence of John Terry and Frank Lampard?. I know Didier is one of the players that people believe to have a fair amount of "clout" in the dressing room but for me he just doesn't do it on the pitch.

Especially in the last month, there have been times when Chelsea needed a kick up the arse, someone to encourage the rest of the players and most importantly of all a constant voice to lift the players. I just don't see it from Drogba and I have to be honest he isn't Chelsea captain material for me.

Some people debate whether or not a centre forward should be made Captain and there are negative and positive arguments about that point but for me I am surprised it isn't Ashley Cole.

Cole has been seen it and done it when it comes to Premier League football and with the wealth of knowledge he has of the English game I remain surprised that he hasn't been in contention. Of course people and maybe Drogba will say that he has Drogba has been there longer so he should be captain so in that case I would argue so has Petr Cech. However, Cech shouldn't be a captain as the goalkeeper cannot influence players all over the pitch from within his own box.

For me Cole is a talker and defiantly a voice on that pitch. He influences games and is a key component down that left side for us. You can bet your life he would give the players a talking to, or a kick up the arse when it was needed.

What do you people think?......Cole not Drogba as Captain?
