Thank god Sven Goran Eriksson is still making headlines in England, especially as he is the newly appointed manager at "And Leicester". Chelsea fan Rob Beasley has interviewed Sven as reported in todays SUN newspaper and has spoken of the England team and players at the moment.
I won't go into too much detail about everything else covered in that interview but when Sven was asked,
Should the likes of Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry retire from international football now to let other players, younger players, have their chance?Eriksson's interesting reply was:
No, they should not... no, not at all. How many goals did Frank Lampard score for Chelsea last season - 20 wasn't it? And from midfield! So why should he retire, he is one of the very best in the game.I couldn't agree with Sven more. I think it's safe to say that England are missing Frank Lampard and it showed the other night. Even Harry Redknapp yesterday has spoken of how you could never have an England midfield without Frank Lampard.
Rio Ferdinand too. Yes, he has had his injuries. But when he's fit he is one of the top defenders in the world.
John Terry is the same. Who is better than JT in this country, in the world? And if he doesn't play, who is coming in to replace him, to replace Rio and replace Frank Lampard?
Not so sure about Rio as I have always thought he is a better footballer than a defender and overrated so I am glad Sven has spoken of JT.
It's obvious to me anyway that since JT has been removed from being Captain of the side or not in the team as per this week, we lack a leader, a gob on the pitch to get the lads going and gee them up. It's seems non existant.
When it comes to being a defender I maybe biased and yes he isn't the quickest centre half in world football but when it comes to JT there is simply no one better for me, for England and for Chelsea.
KTBFFH!.
couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteJT - Leader - Legend!
Sadly, less than half English people know this truth! Had these Blue heroes been a manure or loserfool players, English people would have made them living Gods by now. I hate English football fans so much! They can't look at a player beyond their club (all Ashley, Terry and Lampsy were booed, but Rooney isn't because he is a footballer and whatever he does off the pitch is non of English football fans' pain in the arse)! But the likes of Terry and Lampsy give their best in the face of such demoralising actions from two-penny retards!
