Now this weekend all over the press and especially after this weekends game against West Brom after he was left on the bench by Sir Alex Ferguson, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive about Wayne Rooney and his future at Old Trafford.
There are "reports" that Sir Alex and Rooney have had "massive" bust up's and their relationship now is over and has no chance of being patched up. It's now being reported that Rooney has said to his England team mates last week ahead of the Montenegro game that he is "fed up and needs to find a new club soon". (Source Daily Mail)
This added fuel to the fire being reported last week after the England game when he was asked about the ankle problem that has being bothering him for a couple of weeks as stated by Ferguson, Rooney said he's had no problems.
There is no question there is a problem between them. Its reported that Rooney feels as though he was left out of the Everton game as punishment for his old field antics and not as Ferguson stated that he wanted to protect him from the reception he would receive. Rooney also questions why has was left out of the side for the games at Fulham, Sunderland and Valencia.
I think even the most die hard United fans realise that Rooney and Fergie have their problem with each other. As the newspaper article suggests it's not the first big name player to fall out with Fergie and be shown the door as a result. Players such as Ince, Keane, Beckham etc.
At just 24 years of age he has another 9-10 years left in him. I think if he chooses to move abroad it's massive loss to the English game. Rooney is already an iconic figure in football, yes he has the old the pitch problems he is dealing with and us Chelsea fans have come to live with things like that being reported in recent times.
However, it's what happens on the pitch is where it matters for me and always will and it's obvious there is a problem with him at the moment. He isn't happy and has the world on his shoulders.
I am sure if Chelsea were to make a move for him, with the likes of JT, Lamps and Ashley Cole he would feel at home straight away and with Carlo's man management we could see him find his feet once more.
You never know a move down south for the Rooney's could be just what the doctor ordered on and off the pitch as Rooney looks to get his personal and footballing life back on track.
However, that's the question really. Would he want to leave up north where he has spent his life. It's a big ask to pack up everything and come down here. This is where City come in. There is no question if he does become available, they have the money and are based in the right area for Rooney to do a Tevez and move across town. Just ask Everton fans, it doesn't bother him moving from one rival to another.
Let's be serious for a second about all this and about who we are talking about. Wayne Rooney is world class. Would be a massive assest for anyone to have in their side and can change any game in an instant. Personal problems to one side which can be sorted out eventually (look at Ashley Cole this season as an example) I believe he can regain his form and get better and better as he reaches the prime of his career.
If Sir Alex and United choose to severe their ties with him I would love to see Chelsea make a move. It's whether or not he will leave and if he can resist the money and the locality of City that will go against us.
So I am asking the question to the Chelsea fans on here:
Should Chelsea try and sign Wayne Rooney?.KTBFFH.
It would be awesome to have Rooney in the team, no disrespect to Anelka but Rooney would be able to play his role to perfection while also being able to lead the line in the absence of Drogba! But in all honesty if Rooney leaves Manu are gonna expect Cristiano, Kaka type of money for him which in my opinion is not worth it for one player. For that money they could possibly buy 2 to 3 youngsters who will be very good in the near future - Neymar, Lukaku and Dzagoev :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway lets see what happens in January, one cannot forget about the Torres-Chelsea saga as well!
No, he,s more trouble than he,s worth.
ReplyDeleteAs a United supporter, I say, please take him. He's shot. The perfect foil for Cashley and King Chav. Terry's dad can pimp for him and Ashley can help him with his wage negotiations. All the best.
ReplyDeleteof course not, he's been a good player along the years but now with all the problems, he should leave man u and go to real madrid. A chelsea supporter
ReplyDeleteI DON'T LIKE HIM
ReplyDeleteI got to say as a Chelsea die hard fan this won't be as bad getting rooney to Stamford bridge!! When u look at u would have to shift anelka and play him as a sub, but only think is we might loose anelka down the road and ask for a way out, same thing with zhirkov he kind of threaten carlo by either playing him or he wants out sooo u see now that's wut Carlo's been doing make room on the pitch for him. Regard less to make my point here and finish of the comment I say Rooney in and see wut happens with anelka. In the end I still dought that he will come to Chelsea if he had an option.
ReplyDeleteno...too much money...rather going for youngsters is better...
ReplyDeleteRooney would be a great signing but i can sense that citeh would scupper our plan with their big cash and being in the Manchester! Whatever it is let us not pay too big (not more than 40 million pounds) for him, like one above said we can get Neymar and Dzagoev with that cash.
ReplyDeleteAnd BT, you are worse than my shit!
Yes Rooney should go to Chelsea and his partnership with Droga will be awesome. He is a versatile player and can play as an attacking midfielder whenever Lampard is injured. Come on Chelsea it is time to break your bank and do not let Man City snatch him away (That is assuming he is not interested on a move to Arsenal or Liverpool even if they can afford his wages).
ReplyDeleteIf Rooney went to Chelsea and there was no injuries to the forwards he'd be on the bench.. Frontline of Malouda, Drogba and Anelka, then we still got Kalou, Kakuta, Sturridge. There is no room for him at Chelsea right now, maybe in 2 to 4 maybe even 5 years when Drogba or Anelka leave of retire. Sort of changing subject but people say we are an old squad yet we have no players over 34, look at man u lol and other premiership sides, Arsenal are the only "young" squad. Also our ageing superstars, Drogba, Lamps and Anelka they could have another 5, 6 years in them this is what Ancelotti and his coaching staff can do..
ReplyDeleteWe already have 3, 4 senior strikers, Abramovich has said he's not spending huge and letting the youngens come through, hence why Kakuta, Sturridge, Van Aanholt, McEachran etc
