This morning in the DailyMail a report has appeared stating that it seems that Kaka has become surplus to requirements at Madrid under Mourinho. Ozil and Kadeira were brought into their midfield in the summer alongside Xavi Alonso (a player Liverpool have never replaced since and they have suffered big time) and it seems Ronaldo is the main focus of the element of flair required by Jose.
So, as usual the speculation has started that Kaka could look to move away from Madrid in January and would "favour" a move to England. As you can imagine the usual suspects are being linked to Kaka. Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are being linked to the player with it being believed that the bond between Ancelotti and Kaka puts Chelsea as favourites for his signature.
The question remains (if the rumours are true) would Chelsea and Roman Abramovich in particular want to pay a huge amount of money for Kaka?. He has undoubted quality and is a World Class performer. For me anyway, he hasn't really cut it in Madrid. He has struggled with injuries but still hasn't replicated the form he showed under Ancelotti in Milan.
Also if we think about Chelsea, where would we play him? and who would you leave out of the side as if you paid big money for him he would expect to play?
So I am asking you the fans the question:
Should Chelsea make their move for Kaka?
KTBFFH!
Maybe on loan with RM paying his wages, and an option to buy if all goes well. But not for silly money.
ReplyDeleteLamps and him playmaking, Essien drops back to the holding role and Mikel gets benched :)
ReplyDeleteIf he could come for under 20m pound, then yes.
ReplyDeleteIn the current (and great) 4-3-3 he could play up top on the right, replacing anelka/kalou.
I feel as though if we could sign someone strong for out there, the right side could be as good as the left of cole and flo and we would be unstoppable.
@Anon above, good shout about our strength down the left, but would it not be unfair on Anelka? Especially as we normally allow the front three to interchange positions?

@daft.. yes a little unfair i suppose. you raise a good point, also. is the right side "not as strong" bc we haven't got a right back/winger in the mould of cole - as opposed to anelka not on par with malouda?
ReplyDeletei feel terrible being so critical of such a good side all-around!
@Anon,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. At the end of the day this is what this blog is about, to state my thoughts and opinions and for others to discuss.
I do have to say, if you were facing Chelsea you would define our right side as "weaker" than our left, but saying that Essien plays down the right hand side of the midfield three so scrap that!
KTBFFH
He is a good player still i think and CA will get the best out of him but id rather blood the 'kids' in and would rather see McEachran play more than signing another 29+ year old.
ReplyDeleteIt won't happen. The money is not there. We would not sign him unless it was on loan or we paid less than £20m.
ReplyDeleteif it were anothe player i'd say NO NO NO NO butr dam this is KAKA. if the possibility exist then let's grab him with both hands
ReplyDeleteEveryone cant play all the time, there has to be a mix and every game strategy may dictate that different players maybe used. So buying him wont be a problem, using him wont be a problem but the player being happy with the choices the coach makes given his available resources will be the problem.
ReplyDeleteno...i'd rather like to see josh play as a regular in the team than a misfit from another team...people might contradict that CA got the best out of Kaka...but thats the past...lets stay with the present...plus the uefa fair play rules which come up in 2013...which is why i'd wouldn't want to spend that much money on kaka...
