Chelsea are being reported in the Daily Mail this morning interested in Sunderland's England under 21 midfielder Jordan Henderson. Henderson has received plaudits for his form so far this season and has impressed Fabio Capello to the point of maybe making it into the next full England squad.
The article states that Chelsea have been watching Henderson ever since they were alerted by scout Bryan Robson, a former player and youth team coach at Sunderland.
Now I have to be honest and say that I haven't seen alot of Henderson this season. I can only really reflect on games he has featured on the box against other sides I have seen and against us in games. The first I became aware of him was when we beat Sunderland 5-0 at the Bridge a couple of seasons back on a wet and windy afternoon. Roy Keane was still the manager back then. Henderson seemed to be a busy player at the time but not of any real note.
I can only imagine he has and is developing at Sunderland and has really stepped up his game. The problem with being linked at Chelsea is the question of whether or not he would have to settle for a place on the bench to begin with so you would question the player coming here at the age he is.
It could be rubbish and just pure speculation. I have to say the jury is out on this one for the time being.

what ive seen of him he looks very consistent, great tecnique, good shooting, good mixture of passing and a good cross.
ReplyDeleteHe's been in sunderland's first team for a while now and hasn't looked like budging a great player I think he would be the type of player to step up and would fit all the bills for me.
we could do with are right side strengthening him and bosingwa on the right with malouda and ashely on the left that would be unbelievable.Im having little doubts over the future of kakuta (if he will sign new contract) his age is perfect especially now were spending less with using more youngsters homegrown player aswell it's a win win situation for me if the price is right.
Steve Bruce is a huge admirer of him and I can't see him letting him go with out a fight. I would love to see him here at the bridge I believe he is a player that could settle into our team.
