This morning rumours are rife that Chelsea have not given up on Fernando Torres and are monitoring the situation at Liverpool. I think it's plain to see from anyone watching anything of Liverpool this season, his form has dipped and to me anyway his body language suggests he'd rather be elsewhere.
I can't help but wonder whether or not he regrets staying at Liverpool as he isn't playing anywhere near aswell as he can. It's a very similar thing happening with Wayne Rooney, he isn't happy in himself and it shows on the pitch.
So, with all that's going on at Liverpool could Carlo Ancelotti and Roman Abramovich pounce as early as January to take Torres away from his nightmare at Anfield?
What do you guys think?
Should we try and bring Torres to Stamford Bridge as early as January?KTBFFH
No, hell no! He is too frail and his flowing locks isn't going to help us. If we can get him for 10 million pounds, go get him otherwise a big NO!
ReplyDeleteid say 25 mill would be the absolute limit right now. torres is still relatively young and has many more years ahead of him, there is no way he has forgotten to how play football he needs to be in an environment where he wont be so pressurised ie at chelsea with drogba and anelka. once settled in i have no doubt he will regain his past form and will no doubt exceed it, then we'd be on here saying 25mill was an absolute bargain. i am a chelsea fan and a massive fan of torres, its obvious he isnt playing well at the moment but looking back at how good he was and his age now, i'd definitely vote yes to sign torres
ReplyDeleteI like the plan of him eventually replacing drogba. Im not sure if liverpool would get rid of him especially with the new owners but it's worth a try he's valued so high at liverpool it will take alot to get him. I would love to see him at the bridge especially with anelka and drogba getting on if we get him back to full fitness it would be worth it.he get's my vote aswell Im not gonna get to excited though. we wouldn't be competing with man city by the sound of things if there after rooney but it's man city you never know.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Torres, he won't fit into our system, we would be better off trying to get him on a loan deal so he could come in and ease the burden on Drogba, plus he can play in the Champions League. I think he would be a good replacement for Drogba but Drogba still has a few seasons in him - unless we change to a 4-4-2. I think this is the cheapest we could get him for and if we don't pounce and he recaptures some form his price will shoot up.
ReplyDeleteI heard a news that Torres had a test at Chelsea medical staff in August. It was a done deal but he pulled out in the last minute. He seems to be regretting now and it will be very interesting when the Jan comes.
