As reported this morning and yet to be officially confirmed by Chelsea, Frank Lampard is OUT of tomorrow's game against Manchester City. The Independant are running an article that states Lampard has suffered a setback in his recovery from his Hernia operation and will miss the big clash at Eastlands and possibly Arsenal at the Bridge next week.
If this is confirmed by the club it's a massive blow to Chelsea. Ok we have Essien, Mikel and Ramires available and will more than likely start against City, but we also have McEachran available. (Make sure you check out yesterday's Daily Drivel to see just how good he was the other night) With Benayoun out injured Carlo will have no choice but to go with the three I have already mentioned, who have proved the other week against West Ham that they are strong enough.
Even still, it's not the same without Lampard in my view and the sooner he comes back the better. If that means Carlo has to make a decision on whether he plays against City or Arsenal, for me its a no brainer and it has to be to have him ready for Arsenal next week.
What do you guys think? Is Lampard out a blow? Do you feel we will cope ok without him? Are Essien, Mikel and Ramires up to the job at City? or do you feel Josh McEachran should be given a go instead?
