Having spent the last few years away from our English game and now taking on a new chapter in the amazing managerial career in Madrid, you have to love Jose because the guy will simply tell it exactly how it is and he won't pull any punches!.
First he talks of Liverpool's decline, how Arsenal have no more excuses, Man City's money and how Rafa Benitez will never do any better than he did at Milan!.
He said about the job Roy Hodgson now has at Liverpool:
“It is very difficult work for Roy to do it with Liverpool as, over the last years, they have been getting worse, worse and worse. The Liverpool of 2004 was better than the Liverpool of 2005, 2005 was better than 2006 and 2006 better than 2007. And they arrive at a situation now where, but for Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Pepe Reina, Fernando Torres, if his head is there, it is very difficult for Roy to make Liverpool champions. He needs time and it’s not easy because I don’t think they went in the right direction.”
He then spoke of Manchester City and Sir Alex's comments about their Kamikaze spending. He said:
“When Sir Alex spoke about kamikaze spending, if he was talking about (City) eating the market, I agree with him. But if they have the money, they can do it and, if they have the ambition to win the Premier League, they can do it. If someone wants to compete with them for a player it is very difficult because they are dominant in the market.
The player they say they want is the player that they get. I was interested in [Aleksandar] Kolarov when I came here to Madrid, but I couldn’t compete with City as they went to values that I couldn’t.”
He then went on to speak about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger's youthful side. He said:
“I don’t think Arsenal can win. Year after year it looks like they will but no. It’s always the same type of comment, ‘It’s a young team, it will be next season. I remember we played them in a Carling Cup final [in 2007] with a team of young boys, but they are no longer a team of young boys. They are now a team of 25, 26, 27-year-olds.
Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Gael Clichy, Alex Song, Bacary Sagna – they’re not a team of kids any more, they’re of an age to win things, but I don’t think they will do it.
I believe Chelsea and Manchester United can win the title and, of course, Manchester City because they have a great squad. That’s it.”
Finally he saved the best till last when he spoke of Rafa Benitez taking over at Inter Milan from what he has achieved there in recent seasons. He said:
“Inter is a dream job because he has three trophies (to defend). I don’t have that at Madrid. He is lucky, but I wish him well. One thing is certain, Benítez won’t do better than me at Inter. Another thing is also true that, should he lift the Intercontinental Cup, he will have only won two games compared to my 13. Therefore it will be my trophy and not his.”
Ladies and Gentleman, the "Priceless" Jose Mourinho!
KTBFFH
The Guys a Prick FACT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteInter had won numerous titles in a row before he got there thanks to Mancini. It's not like he did anything at Inter, he was lucky he met shitty Chelsea in the Champions League, Liverpool Man Utd or Arsenal would have spanked his team like the previous occasions ... lol guys a joke he needs to wake up. Don't even get me started on watching his boring boring football either he can stick it, anyone can win by parking the bus in defence and spending 200m.
Nice one, so funny as well. Pity he’s still not at the Bridge with all the other cocks.
ReplyDeleteChequebook champions this year? It has to the be one of the three clubs that far outspend anyone else - Chavs, Mancs or Manc Chavs.
ReplyDeleteAs an arsenal fan i gotta say he made me laugh. i really like his honest and frank comments. the guy is just crazy but i like him. I hope he is wrong about arsenal though ofc. I think he has over-estimated city tbh ad underestimated arsenal.
ReplyDeletea bitter man...more so that liverpool win the european cup at his chelsea millions expense. hence, his hatred for rafa...out-tactified him and as usual ungracious in defeat.
ReplyDeleteinter been winning titles since the sixties!
Guys,
ReplyDeleteHe is talking about this season. FACT 1, Liverpool are not the same as they was, they do not possess a strong squad. Two, Arsene can't keep on using the same excuses, my best mate is an Arsenal fan and HE even says the same!.
FACT, City will be up there at the end of the season because of the Squad they have.
FACT, Rafa will be judged purely on the fact its Jose's team and not his. Until he brings in his own players he will forever be compared. I doubt he will do better than Jose anyway!
Its not about the past its about this season!
Actually if you listen to the interview in full, rather than taking the media's sensationalist quotes out of context as you do (lazily), then it's a pretty balanced and fair interview. He's actually pretty positive about Arsenal with his comments.
ReplyDeletethe guys a cock
ReplyDeleteI know that people dont like him, but you have to admit to his success and his level of confidence he brings into his squad. Fair to say that he wins with talented teams, but not all coaches can bring the best of their players like he does. I hate RM, but I am sure that he will bring them success as he has done everywhere he has gone. Spot on wid his comments as usual. Miss him in EPL.
ReplyDeleteWhat a twat:
ReplyDelete"They are now a team of 25, 26, 27-year-olds.
Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Gael Clichy, Alex Song, Bacary Sagna – they’re not a team of kids any more...."
Cesc Fabregas is 23
Theo Walcott is 21
Alex Song is 22
And Arsenal played only one game last season where the average age was over 25 years. They played 2 where the average age was under 21.
Like I said, what a twat.
Understand (but dont agree) most of what he says...but the kamikaze spending is a bit rich coming from him, or anyone else from chelsea..as he did the sam thing in 2005-2006 essien prime example...£8 million player (at the time) for £16 million, doubling the nearest bid...never did know when to shut his mouth!
ReplyDeletearsenal wont win the title... and he thinks real can?? pep will rape him bad! yes he won many trophy but looks at the player he have! give him arsenal 3-4 years ago with the amount of money wenger spent...he wont even be at the top 4! i cant remember any of the player he bought with low price shine as good as fab...rvp...

ReplyDeleteWHAT AN ABSOLUTE COCK.................
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably win the league with Real as they'll be hard to beat as he only knows one way to set up a team. Defend and counter attack. He's got lucky wherever he's been. He's inherited great players, added one or two and bobs your uncle. He's never had to do a total rebuild job like Rafa, Wenger and Fergie have had to do over the years.
ReplyDeleteFans of teams OTHER than Chelsea generally think that he was an interesting character to have in teh game, because he was good value for a ludicrous comment; Chelsea fans need to take off the rose-tints and appreciate that most of those comments were utterly ridiculous, just like the ones above.
ReplyDeleteHe was a great manager because he has managed to win trophies; however, he has spent more than most of his competitors in every league where he has done so, which isn't really the sign of true greatness.
Ultiamtely, he's a total prick - but a really rich one ;)
DAZ,
ReplyDeleteThe guy only takes on jobs where he knows that there is already a great base of a team their and that he will get millions to spend on new players! Chelsea, Inter Milan and now Real Madrid.............. lets see how the guy would do at a team like liverpool who are in a bit of a tricky position at the moment, oh no, he won't take the likes of them jobs will he.......... Not being funny but the likes of Wenger would do as good a job as him in any of those jobs but he would do it in absolute STYLE!
Another thing his teams are F**KING SHITE to watch! I know I wouldn't want the guy as the manager of my club! Jose your a W**KER!
please roman bring jose back if not we will never win ucl
ReplyDeleteHe cant do jack on a shoestring and is a mercenray classless chav; he was made for lil chelsy
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to forget that Jose has only one shot at winning La Liga and the champions league this season. There is no second chance at Real. The heat is on and past glories count for nothing. The inter-continental cup will be Rafas' the same way the 2005/2006 EPL title was yours and not Ranierri's.You cannot get away with boring football either as Capello found to his cost after winning La Liga.
ReplyDeleteOk then. Honest answer from you please. If Hodgson or Wenger fail badly this season, Jose fails at Madrid and is offered the chance to manage Liverpool or Arsenal would you want him as the main man at your club?
ReplyDeleteHonest answers people...
carlos is not real couch for Chelsea
ReplyDeleteGeta a life Mourhino
ReplyDeleteFACT Cesc is 23,Theo 21,Song 23. Where was Chelsea when their first team players were that age.SECOND DIVISION.It is easy to win the title playing like BOLTON after spending 300 million. Arsene does not need an excuse, what he has done is unmatchable, invincibles and on budget.
ReplyDeleteif Chelsea buys would class players like striker-middle-defender will Chelsea win with out Jose cl
ReplyDeleteCome on you guys who have taken the time to comment, if you had the chance would you want him to manage your side in the Premier League?
ReplyDeleteMourhino at ARSENAL,never in a million years,we stopped playing that kind of football over 15 years ago in George days and we wouldn't be going back there not for anything.
ReplyDeleteFair comment as I know alot of Arsenal would feel the same, but where do you draw the line, playing nice football and not winning trophies or winning the league back?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @ 18:11. Where were Chelsea when their 1st team players were between 21 and 23? That would mean 7-10 years ago if you're talking about Lampard, Drogba and Anelka yeah? Let's see... Winning the prem for the first time and in the Champions League. Talk some sense! I love that bitter Arsenal and Liverpool fans on here whining about Jose. He's a quality manager. FACT. You want to talk about money, try PORTO. The team he first won the Champ League with. Last season with Real, Barca, Man Utd & Chelsea all looking better squads he managed to take Inter to the final and WIN. It might not be pretty but the guy is a winner and that's something that Rafa and Wenger haven't been in a VERY long time. Get over yourselves!
ReplyDelete@Chelseadaft Personally I'd worry about any traditional top 8 team that Jose came to manage. Villa & Everton would easily push for a stable top four place. Spurs would do some damage in Europe and push for 3rd. Liverpool, Man Cit£h and Arsenal would win the league and Man Utd or Chelsea I shudder to think!
ReplyDeleteThis is superb, a chelski blogsite where the majority of comments are from followers of other clubs (The Arsenal). Superb, I realise that chelski's fanbase is somewhat parochial and 99 per cent chav based, but surely you have some fans who can read and write - and are indeed familiar with the internet, or are you all still grunting away as you did in the 70s, 80s and 90s. "Osgood is good... Zigger Zagger, (buy your latest National Front BNP paper outside the Bridge!). Combat 18 et al. What an orrible bunch, still!! Oh yeh and as for mourihno (jackbooted portuguese facist aristocrat), who cares what pseudo-intellectual crap he spins, want him at Arsenal you are having a laugh, he is the total antithesis of what we represent. "There's only one team in London... One Team in London... Gooner Nick
ReplyDeleteYeah orite Gooner Nick, Theres only one team in London, that dont win anything that is.... with excuses year after year.... wake up and smell the coffee... The top team in London right now! and probably for the last 5 years is Chelsea! by a long way. I know how you feel, we were once the team that would only win the odd FA Cup here and there, stop deluding yourself...
ReplyDeleteKTBFFH
Chelsea first won the league in 2005 after 50 yrs, Lampard and Drogba were 27,Anelka(if you had any pride you wouldn't use his name) was 26. None you have mentioned were at your club at 21.Funnythough, only Anelka at 21 was an international level player. The Emperor has no clothes, sadly the story of your club

ReplyDeleteChelsea may be champions right now but ask most neutrals and they'll tell you they're champions because of the money, not the skill of the coaches. Are Chelsea feared? Yes. Are they respected? No. Spend enough money and throw enough talent together and at some point by the law of averages you'll win something.
ReplyDeleteI really hope that Chelski and Real get drawn in the same group in the CL this year. I`d love to see the `special one` kick the Mincers out of the CL
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad, so many commenters on here are living in the past or are motivated by jealousy and spite.
ReplyDeleteA question for you sad folk: why do you bother reading stuff if all you're going to do is be blindly negative. Do you start out with bitterness, is bitterness part of your everyday life?
You make me laugh though, so perhaps I shouldnt criticise you too much.
Aw don't you arsenal fans have anything better to comment on until the next Barca bid for your want-away captain? How shameful for you that your own captain doesn't rate you! Do you think you're going to finish above Chelsea this year? Really? You know you have a good team, but you are deluded if you think they have the quality needed to win the league. 1-1 against a 10 man Liverpool team who got dicked against Citeh! You boys are coming 4th this year and no silverware again! But hey, take your frustration out on this thread, personally I'm laughing my ass off as you guys are pitiful!
ReplyDeleteJealousy??? Lol, that's a good one. When Chavsea develops a history we can be jealous of let us know.
ReplyDeleteI think arsenal having player how are young, is better than having players how are to old link Chelsea. and whit 2 new defenders arsenal will be a lot stronger.
ReplyDeleteWhat was that bollocks Ancelotti was sprouting about Man City needing to build a team rather than buying one? Has he looked around his dressing room recently?
ReplyDelete@Anon above......WHAT!
ReplyDeleteListen, last season we only bought Zhirkov who hardly plays, Sturrigde who hardly plays and Turnbull who hardly plays... this season, Benayoun who will hardly play.. so what are you talking about!
The reason there are few Chelsea supporters commentating on this blog is 1) it's just regurgitating what we already know so is largely irrelevant 2) the majority of us are long over Mourinho (some longer than others) 3) we realise Mourinho is a self-publicist above all else and comments for his own benefit and nobody else's 4) to the extent that he's right (which he is) we already know it too. To say Liverpool are finished is a statement of the obvious and the laughable Wenger is the best con-man in the business. Years of young kids because as soon as anyone gets any good they want to go somewhere else. None of them can bear being at the Arse for a moment longer than necessary. And for good reason. Perennial losers.
ReplyDeleteThe glaring and obvious truth is that Chelski are universally HATED by opposing fans and neutrals alike because a criminally rich criminal bought them the league. You are about to be usurped by a criminally rich desert peasant who will buy the league for the next 3-4 seasons. When Roman the murdering thug is bored and the midget camel jockey is bored and all the clubs like Munure and Liverpool are in bankruptcy and Roman and the jockey have long since forgotten their old toys there will only be one club left. Arsenal financially stable, well managed, and full of the most talented players around. The future of football is bright. Chelski,Manure,Liverpool,ManShitty, will all be either gone and their grounds turned into carparks or be playing in the old 2nd devision. Arsenal will entertain all in sundry and be champions every year. You asked us not to dwell in the past. So I took you too the future. Your future is Roman tried in the criminal courts for all the murders he committed to get his millions and Chelski stripped of those titles due to them being earned on the back of blood money and the new Chelski struggling to pay their players whilst fighting off relegation into non-league football. Shut-up and enjoy it while it lasts!
ReplyDeleteone of the first things i remember about chelsea is kerry dixon scoring shit loads of goals in the old 2nd division.Around that time they were a yo-yo team very akin to west brom of recent years. i have never had the joy of seeing an arsenal player achieve that feat mainly because if i was old enough to see them play there i'd be getting birthday cards from the queen. So in conclusion they have bought their success with romans money and as for the biggest team in london thats us and as much as i hate to say it the spuds are behind us with chelsea and the hammers in the battle for third place, and all west ham need is a billionaire to buy em and they'll have that third place.
ReplyDeletemr.jose, just look at the expense on buying the team squad such as chelsea & madrid..so much different at Arsenal, spending so little on budget but still play in CL..but can u build the team just as good as wenger??i doubt!! u only buy ready or world class players that are expensive..if u manage team like wigan or stoke can u win the league?? i doubt it..so pls think b4 u talk mr jose..your mouth is faster than your brain, but i salute for your frankness
ReplyDeleteTSO is apt with what he says!
This is so good I had to copy it and post it twice. Nice one, son (or lady).
As a Chelsea fan I can only repeat the last sentence. You poor misguided fools attacking the blues out of jealousy and spite - come on, get a life. Do you know, apart from the article itself there is no actual CONSTRUCTIVE or BALANCED criticism here. You guys really are retards arent you. Still, it makes me laugh, too, mainly about the intellectual capacity (or lack of it) of other teams' supporters.
PS For Manure fans, intellectual capacity roughly equates to intelligence.
Sorry, for Manure fans again, equates is the same as equals.
:-)
Come on Chelsea Daft, these Arses are really mad. They have won nothing for more than half a decade but only have a big mouth to talk shit! In the last half a decade Chelsea has been the top London side (check the statistics), but Gooners still think that they are the best - nonsense. Poor old Arsene is good for an Academy coach but not to coach a club which plays in CL, his days are gone. Jose is right, Arsene has not even matched what Jose has won.
ReplyDeleteHistory, Pride and all nonsense which go with it are mere bluff to hide their losing run. What is their BIG history btw?
Arsenal only finished in fifth place in 1919, but were nevertheless elected to rejoin the First Division at the expense of local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, It has been alleged that Arsenal's promotion, on historical grounds rather than merit, was thanks to underhand actions by Norris, who was chairman of the club at the time and a businessman who bought Arsenal when they went bankrupt. And this is their so called history and now they are trying to talk shit about 'Abramovich'.
All those words against Chelsea comes due to jealousy that they did not get an owner like Abramovich, that's all.
As Mourinho says, Arsenal are NOT gonna win anything.
What is the point of history? Sure, it's nice to look back on. But, as the financial marketeers say, it's no guide to the future. And how right they are.
ReplyDeleteThe only point of history is to MAKE history. It's a lesson the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool need to learn. To be fair to Man U, they have made history, though I doubt they will make much this season, they are too thin squad-wise. For quite the opposite reason, Man City may make a little this season, but again, not much.
No one else matters. (Sorry if the truth hurts).
Chelsea? Well, hopefully this season yet again we will be too old to win anything (nice value judgement there Fergie, proved to be sooo intelligent!) and we will come away with at least one of the major prizes.
But back to the article - for all his faults, Jose is very perceptive and extremely intelligent. If you can cut through the clever gamesmanship and read the nitty gritty of what he says, well you just have to take notice. As always.
When Jose speaks, the world listens.
I don't understand why opposition fans come here, read something they full well know they will not like and then come in consistently to slag off the team? Isn't is just a waste of time?
ReplyDeleteLook at Liverpool and their current situation, if they had GOOD owners I'm sure everyone would hate them too and the same for Arsenal, in fact I hope Arsenal get a stupidly rich owner, that can take the club forward for the better and then have everyone else say they "bought the league" and all the comments that follow.
In recent times they've just punched above their weight, right now they're the third best team in England and it looks set to stay like that for a while. Everything listed by Mourinho is true as well, Arsenal can't win the league and Liverpool are just... there's no need to even talk about them at the moment.
I don't know about you sad fucks but I actually go to football games, and I don't see sacks of money winning games out there. Anyway, continue with your sad lives, hope you give the site more hits!

ReplyDeleteone more thing about Fabregas, it makes me smile that someone would rather warm the bench for Barca than captain your shambles. Shows the gulf in difference between real quality and Arsenal
ReplyDeletestupid mourinho.. can only draw with real mallorca!!! bodoh!!
ReplyDelete
