Carlo Ancelotti's has given his pre-match Press Conference before our trip to the DW Stadium tomorrow.
Despite our thumping of West Brom last week, Carlo has urged caution to the side before we take to the field. He said:
"I am sure it will be a different game tomorrow, the last game at Wigan we lost 3-1, and for this reason I think we have to prepare well for this game, above all mentally.(Source: Chelseafc.com)
I will be happy if we can win just 1-0. It is important to have a clean sheet, it is important to score when possible but this is not football, to win 6-0 or 7-0 cannot happen every day. It is important to win, to play well, and if possible to score.
We have to pay attention, they started bad, lost at home against Blackpool and they want to be strong, to have power tomorrow, to do a different match. We have to pay attention because they have quality and skills in front,' he warned.
We had problems last season, it was our first defeat and now we want to continue, we started well, it is important to have a good start, not just one game but also the others. Last year we won the first games and we want to do the same because it is important to start well.
Ramires came back this morning, he will train today, and will not be involved tomorrow. Next week he will be ready to play against Stoke and he will be involved in the match.
Ivanovic had a little problem in his stomach and is fit and ready to play tomorrow.
We are without Bosingwa, he will start to train with the team next week and maybe needs again two or three weeks to play. Bruma will have surgery this morning for a hernia, and Kakuta has a problem on his back.
The other players are in good condition. Lampard had a problem before the match against West Bromwich on his ankle, but trained well, recovered well and is fit."
It seems to me that Carlo has to show respect to the opposition which is why he is talking of Chelsea showing caution tomorrow. As per my preview written yesterday we are playing with a different formation and in a different style that suits our players now compared to the one we played at the DW last season.
I can only see a Chelsea win tomorrow based upon the recent result's for both sides. I know its only early in the season to say it but if we do not come away from the game tomorrow without three points then there will be and should be no excuse. (That's no disrespect to Wigan at all).
KTBFFH!
We need to change formation, when we are playing away!!
ReplyDeleteCarlo is right for his caution as they beat us, as well as Livepool and Arsenal at home last year. Banana Skin for sure!
Our away form almost cost us, and it was beating Man-Ure away that helped us win the title, which we achieved by one point.
Even though we beat the big 4 last year, draws against Hull, Blackburn and Hull City are less then impressive.
Carlo knows our if we can win away by the odd goal, and build consistently on this, then we can make up the goal difference at Home giving us a more comfortable route to title.
