There has been speculation in recent weeks about Yossi Benayoun and leaving Liverpool. Benayoun himself has said that he will be joining Chelsea. A reported bid has already been turned down by Liverpool but its now almost certain that he will sign for Chelsea and is expected to return from holiday in Israel next week to discuss personal terms. No offence to Benayoun but he will not improve our squad!.
I know its just my opinion and I am sure that some fans will disagree with me (Liverpool fans) but if you look at our squad and players we have available for selection for each game then he will never get a start so whats the point in bringing him to the Bridge?.
I know Joe Cole looks like he is off now after reports that Chelsea have now withdrawn their contract offer for him but how on earth can we look at Benayoun as his replacement?.
good player but not good enough for chelsea - nuff said
ReplyDeleteThats exactly what i was thinking, Benayoun hasn't been a stellar signing for liverpool. How can he be one for chelsea?
ReplyDeleteI know this won't be popular with fellow Blues but i am an admirer of Benayoun's, i think he has something to offer us and look forward to him coming.
ReplyDeleteUnlike the rest i've been despairing of Joe Cole and am quite pleased he's off to be honest, he should have been a little more realstic about his worth instead of getting too greedy.
@Andy
ReplyDeleteApparently its not about the money. Read here

Much better player than Joe Cole.Trick after trick from Cole with no end product,no pace and
ReplyDeletetoo much injured,seen better day's.
Benayoun has troubled Chelsea mant times in big games.Torres has got the goals but Benayoun set them up.He's very mobile and a very good team player,looked Liverpool's most dangerous player
at the end of the season.Carlo is not stupid and
if he want's him,enough said.
The best right sided player at the moment is Jesus Navas of Seville.When he get's the ball he attacks very quickly instead of killing the game like Coal passing back to the fullback and
ending back where we started.As a season ticket
holder i'll be delighted if Cole leaves his race has run and Carlo knows it.
This makes more sense if you think about it as the first part of a move to bring a certain Liverpool striker to the Fulham Road...
ReplyDeleteJoe Cole will always be a cult figure for Chelsea fans but, IMO, he's just far too inconsistent and is nowhere near the level of a couple of season ago. Constantly caught in possession in dangerous areas of the field, he can be often a liability to a side as committed to attack as Chelsea have become under Ancelotti.
